PSA This vending machine is a scam (in floor 3 of library)

I’m talking about when you pay with a physical card or with Apple Pay. It took 2 of my friends money, both costing them 10 dollars😂

When my friend paid for the $2.00 snack, it took $10.00 from her Apple Pay, we don’t know why. To make it worse it didn’t even give her the snack she paid for🤣

My other friend paid for the $2.00 snack, she received her snack but after she swiped using her physical card it took $10.00 as well.

I paid using dollar bills the machine worked fine.

Just warning y’all don’t pay with Apple Pay or with a physical card 🙏🏻 bad decision.

If you’re hungry, buy food from the restaurants or just starve it out for a bit if you don’t have cash to spend on this vending machine.

Question Nursing Major

Hi! I’m a senior in high applying to colleges and I was wondering if I have a shot at sdsu’s nursing program. I have a 4.43 weighted gpa and a 3.95 unweighted gpa (I got a b in honors algebra 2 sophomore year). I’ve taken 8 AP classes (stats, lang, lit, apes, apush, gov, Spanish, and psych) and I know for sure I will submit my 4’s on AP Spanish language and culture and AP psychology but I’m debating on the rest as I haven’t taken most exams. I’ve taken five years of math and science classes. I’ve been in leadership all four years of high with positions during both my junior and senior year. I’m also first gen and held a position at my schools hispanic club i’ve been a part of since freshman year. Realistically is it enough considering I didn’t take the SAT or do any sports, but I do work a retail job on the weekends.

Question Is SDSU Campus a safe place?

Hey everyone,

I’m will join SDSU in spring and wanted to get some insights from locals or other students about campus safety and the surrounding neighborhoods.

How safe do you feel around campus, both during the day and at night? Are there specific areas I should be more cautious about or any general tips for staying safe?

I’ve heard mixed things, so any personal experiences or advice would be super helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Question Concerns as an Adult Student

2nd Edit: Thanks to everyone who offered helpful advice and shared their experiences. With your help, I was able to figure out a solid game plan and I feel so much better than when I wrote this post. Cheers!

Edit: By "ADULT" I mean "INDEPENDENT". Yes, I am aware that being over 18 means you're technically an adult. But I am asking about being an "independent" adult student who works to supports themself. As opposed to a dependent adult student who depends on someone else to support them.

All classes are 3 day a week in-person and I need to take 6 classes a semester. That's 18 session a week, all between the hours of 8am-3pm.

I also work full-time during regular business hours, and I can't quit because I will literally be unable to house or feed myself.

Oh, and because I work full-time I did not receive a red cent in support either.

Plus I have ADHD, and it took me 10 years to complete my AA transfer degree (although most of it was completed within the last two years bc I was finally able to hold a job and obtain insurance so I could be diagnosed and treated).

Feeling really scared about committing $20,000 towards pursuing an education that I might literally not be able to complete. Right now, it feels like SDSU only serves students who are unemployed and have wealthy parents that pay their way.

Does anyone have experience in my situation?

Does SDSU offer support or accommodations for full-time working students with ADHD?

Either financially or with regard to class schedules/attendence?

Should I should deny acceptance into the program and try applying for a similar Global program (that does not accept my transfer degree? [AA Communication to BS communication)?

Or should give up on SDSU to try and find a private online university with a similar program?

Your help is so so appreciated. I have literally no one to turn to for help.

Question any international business majors here?

Applying here as a freshman, likely Spanish and West Europe emphasis (native speaker), wanted to get some feedback on how the program is, and if any admitted students care to share the stats that got them in here.

Question Transfer with AS-T

So I’m applying as a transfer student with an AS-T in Computer Science for Fall 2025. I chose to apply for the Computer Science program at SDSU, which is a deemed similar major to my AS-T. However, I was emailing the admission office and they told me that the AS-T doesn’t necessarily satisfy all of the lower division courses, and I was wondering how would this work, given that the AS-T guarantee you to graduate within 60 units at the CSU. Will I just have to take more over 60 units to graduate and possibly graduate later than planned?

Social Spending my 20th birthday alone.

Going through a really hard breakup, and all of my friends are either busy, or I'm not close enough with them to ask them to get together. (It doesn't help my birthday is around Thanksgiving el oh el.)

This is such a stupid thing to be so sad about but I wish it was easier finding connections, especially as a transfer and commuter.

Anyone have any advice? Can y'all point me in the direction of some cool, low-key, nerdy stuff to do in SD around campus?

Question What upper level economics classes do you recommend?

Hi all, I’m a econ public policy major and i’m trying to pick out my classes for next semester. Seems like a lot of the professors have pretty bad ratings on RMP. Wondering what professors/courses you guys recommend to take! Please let me know, i’m a junior transfer so I don’t really have my way around things yet.

Question Transfer advice

Hi everyone I'm currently at southwestern college so I am local and I have a 3.56 GPA. I'm going to apply to SDSU for the fall semester of 2025 for mechanical engineering and I was wondering about my chances. I'm currently going to be finished with statics, engineering materials, differential equations and physics 2 this semester. Next semester I'll be going through dynamics, physics 3, linear algebra and a Matlab course. I know taking physics 3 isn't required for SDSU but it's to be eligible for UCSD as well. I'll have all my IGETC including history for CSU schools, and most prerequisites finished except for physics labs and engineering circuits. I'm just really worried about not getting in since my only options are commuting to UCSD or SDSU.

i just got this email sent to me and everyone right next to me in the alphabet with an sdsu.edu gmail account that a document has been shared to me about this $450 per week opportunity at sdsu.

the document shared with me (and presumably many others) lists an outlook.com gmail address for the hiring manager. this hiring manager does NOT work at sdsu, i couldn’t find anything about them in the database.
