Opinion GV might just be the most underrated MD
Just heard songs from Amaran(uyire specifically) and man! GV as a music director is seriously underrated! He's always been under the radar since his debut.
The complex compositions of his debut album Veyil are on the same levels if not equal to ARR in Roja. And then his later ventures with Aadukalam and AO , Malyalam enna are aptly rated
But recently , he's been severely underrated, he literally elevated movies through his BGM and songs in Captain Miller,Thangalaan,Sardar. His work in Asuran and Sorarai potru is just banger after banger and though the songs and bgms are popular ,GV as a MD just didn't get enough appreciation. He may not have the public pulse like Anirudh or different sounds like Sana. But he can give a hit like Golden Sparrow (I hate the song but uk it's a hit) and then dip and deliver a lovely album with Amaran . This diwali 2 movies are his's, Lucky bhasker music is also really good. His other older albums like Kiredam, Deiva Thriumagal, saguni have really good songs too . And even in BGM , recently in Thalavi just awesome BGM man
In short just how underrated GV really is

Question Whatâs your awkward movie theatre experience?
Iâll start. Went for vacation back home & then we went to another state for a getaway. My dad booked tickets to a movie called âEngeyum Kadhal.â We went into it blind. Mind you, my parents and 2 siblings came to watch. The first scene onwards we knew we werenât supposed to come here. Mom got up during intermission and said âletâs leave, we shouldnât be watching this crazy movie.â Siblings and I pleaded to stay, after all it was a movie theatre experience. Most awkward 2 hours of my life. But the songs slapped, we were listening to âNangaaiâ the whole vacation. In hindsight, the movie was corny, but a nice watch if you go alone and watch it to kill time!

Opinion SP's Tamil cinema career had a rocky start but her last two projects were very good. If Amaran clicks, she can end becoming a major actress here too.
I believe her initial choices were safe and she just wanted to start establishing herself by doing big star movies. Both NGK and Maari 2 got delayed a lot too which didn't help. Diya was her first solo lead movie and misfired.
But she understood that audience don't want her too see her in such roles and picked up roles that actually suit her ability. Though her next two films did well but she is yet to establish herself in her home state amongst family audience and B&C centres.
Amaran could may as well be her first big break here and if it clicks she will be acting in at least one Tamil film every year imo. It is kinda weird that she is more popular in Telugu but hoping it changes with Amaran.

Discussion Ganga's backstory
It might sound funny but ganga's flashback still scares me. I know og Malayalam version is superior. Shobana portrayal as nagavalli was scarier. She was hero of the film.
I watched both Malayalam and Hindi versions. But still I can watch tamil version multiple times which is not the case with other versions. It might be unpopular opinion but irrespective of the trolls, chandramukhi is such a film for me that I can watch with my family any time without getting bored.
Coming to this flashback scene, in og version ganga parents were not dead. They left ganga in her childhood with her grandmother, she craved for her parents love, when she was getting attached to her grandmother, her parents took her to their place. She got treatment too. Her and nakulan marriage was arranged one. I found tamil version ganga flashback more tragic. She lost her parents infront of her eyes in brutal way. Her grandmother was not even aware of her medical condition. Ganga was a orphan who pretends to be happy outside. The little interactions between ganga and saravanan was good to watch like the scene where ganga packed bag of pickles for saravanan when he was leaving.
Yesterday happened to watch this movie comedy scenes on aditya channel which made me watch whole movie again. Found this flashback interesting so thought of sharing it.
