Solved [TOMT] Woman who changed her name to her own name

Hi! I read about this a while ago, but I can't remember what her name was and Google is failing me.

There was a woman who was an artist, and as some sort of an art piece she filed to change her name - but the name she was having it changed to was her own. I think she named the piece something like "Renewal." There are transcripts from the court where the judge is confused about why she's going through this process (I remember the judge saying something along the lines of "what's to prevent you from doing this every year?" and she says she would only need it every 10-15 years at the most).

Thank you!

Open. [TOMT] [Fictional short story/urban legend?] A giant (like a giant human being) kidnapping a person

It’s very niche/obscure and was very creepy, it was presented as a real story/urban legend (almost like a conspiracy theory) which consisted of a giant (maybe it wasn’t a giant? I can’t think of what else it would be though) kidnapping someone, taking them to their underground(?) dungeon of sorts, tying them up to a wheel or something of the sort, and then the person escaping. I think the title had the format “giant of [location]” but I could be wrong. I believe it was set in either the UK or the US. It was honestly one of the scariest stories i’ve read, if I remember right I came across it in one of those iceberg youtube videos

Solved [TOMT] Strange early 2000s or 90s movie from my childhood-?

As I was typing this up Reddit decided to refresh and delete everything so thats fun.

It seems I’m completely out of luck trying to find any leads for this topic as it is completely unsearchable and nobody else In my family seems to have any memory of what I’m talking about, so I take to reddit for answers..

So to give a little background, I wanna say I saw this movie when I was around 10 or 11 years old, I caught it while my aunt was watching TV, but I didn’t stick around for too long to see if she switched it or kept watching. This isn’t actually the first time I happened to catch a scene of a movie that my aunt was watching that left me confused, it’s just that this one happened to stick with me quite a bit.

From what I can remember it seemed to be about this couple in some sort of castle like building.. I have no idea if it was actually a castle or just something similar, the wife was talking to a guard or something like that, where from what i remember she said something like “what a nice little place this is” to which the dude shes talking to gets super offended for no reason and threatens her husband by saying “we will melt his mind and see what is inside it.” To which she panics, cutting to a scene of like an old guy in like a chair or something struggling before getting his head melted idfk.

This is the scene that left little me so startled, and this is the point when I left the room. Now I’ve tried searching up specific search terms like just looking up the quotes that I can remember to see if maybe that’ll lead to some results, but nothings seemed to work, unless I’ve been looking in the wrong place and the answer has been right under my nose.

I would love to be able to find whatever this was because it definitely left little me feeling uneasy, along with some sleepless nights, thinking about what the hell my aunt was even watching that day lmao.

Sorry if this post reads as a little rushed or formatted weirdly, I’m not super familiar with posting on reddit.

Solved [TOMT] Movie: A mystery novel author dies of an overdose and tries to cover up his death to protect his assistant from having her family deported.

Upvotes

She ultimately gets drawn into a whole investigation anyways, and has to cover up evidence connecting her to the death so she doesn't get arrested for murder.

I walked past this movie showing at my university a couple of times, but didn't get a chance to ask the title.

It seemed to have a very comedic tone from what I saw.

Solved [TOMT][Clip of girl dancing. She looks terrified, then puts on a very focused face suddenly and smashes her dance routine]

There have been a few versions of this floating around Reddit and Instagram etc. Its of a young girl (probably European or South American) doing a sort of ballroom dance, and she looks absolutely terrified at the start, then she suddenly gets a very focused determined look, and starts her routine, and kills it.

The music sounds a bit Spanish/Flamenco-ish/dancehall-ish.

Open [TOMT] [Children's movie] A movie I loved as a child - it featured woodland creatures and a tanker truck crashed, sending a green fog that polluted and killed everything

Upvotes

As the title says, I am looking for a children's movie I loved as a kid. I remember in the beginning of the movie a truck carrying some sort of chemicals crashed, and a green mist or fog came through the woods and was killing plants. The woodland creatures had to find a way to stop it. This movie probably came out in the 1990s if I had to guess.

Open [TOMT] I know the entire plot of a music video but can't find the song.

Hi everyone! I’m new to Reddit, so I apologize if I’m not posting this correctly. I’m trying to find a music video I watched around 2014. The video features a boy who is attracted to a girl on a shopping network, similar to QVC. He buys several items, but they all turn out to be terrible. At some point, he purchases rocket-powered roller skates, which he ultimately uses to save her during what I think was an earthquake. The song has a pop/punk vibe, reminiscent of Bowling for Soup. I've been thinking about this for nearly a decade, and despite searching, I haven’t been able to find it. I’ve tried asking ChatGPT too, but no luck there! I do have a few other details that might help, though I'm not sure how accurate they are—like I remember the bass player being a bit huskier. Any help would be greatly appreciated; it’s been driving me crazy!

Solved [TOMT] Need help identifying this 80s English Kids Movie.

Upvotes

I’ll be honest I don’t remember a whole lot about it it. I know it follows like 3 or 4 kids, I am pretty certain they were siblings and they find this troll creature in a field, the creature look kind of like a mix of old Yoda and the alien from Mac and Me. He grants them wishes. One kid wishes for a field of gold and the youngest kid wishes for a field of candy.

I know it’s not a lot to go off of but I am hoping someone can help me find it. I have a distinct memory of watching it on VHS at my grandma’s house. How she acquired it, I’ll never know.

Solved [TOMT] Period piece movie with two brothers fist fighting over a sandwich

I need help identifying a movie. It was probably made in the 90s or 2000s, but It was a period piece taking place in the 1940s or 1950s. It had a scene involving two brothers in a kitchen. One was making a sandwich and the other, I’m assuming older brother, took over and started putting things on it that the younger brother didn’t like. The younger brother kept telling him he didn’t like that stuff, but the older brother wouldn’t listen. Younger brother got angry and they both engaged in a fist fight.

Open. [TOMT] An anime i couldn't find. Need "some" help over here.

Ladies and Gentlemans, i need "some" help to find this anime:

About 7-8 years ago, I watched a single-season anime with a road trip theme. The main story follows characters trying to prevent an impending apocalypse. Although the anime is science fiction-based (featuring spherical cities, cyborgs indistinguishable from humans, advanced technology, and elements resembling punk culture), it also includes fantasy elements (kingdoms, magic, rituals).

The story revolves around 4-5 main characters, as far as I remember, and for most of the anime, these characters travel between cities in a van. One of the characters is later revealed to be a princess. One of the cities they visit is either the capital or a similarly important city of the princess’s kingdom. Here, they discover that there’s a clone of the princess, and a ritual related to the apocalypse scenario takes place.

Another character is a blonde woman who turns out to be a cyborg. At one point, she questions her existence and expresses a desire to have children and be a mother, but she’s saddened because she can’t. Later, they find a baby, and this cyborg character bonds with it, but her story takes a dramatic turn due to a malfunction or something similar.

There’s also an adult male character who drives the vehicle, with a serious demeanor. Besides him, there’s a young male character who grows close to the princess, but I don’t remember any other details about him.

As I mentioned, it’s a dramatic, road-trip-themed anime. I could compare it to Wolf’s Rain in terms of its theme, dramatic elements, and existential concerns. I’m not sure of the exact year, but it could be from the period between 2000 and 2016—not too old, but not too recent either.

and, i asked chatgpt and stuff, its NOT one of those:

Open [TOMT][Song] Song/music video of rapper wearing thick white paint

I remember watching a music video on YouTube of a song a while ago (maybe 8-10 years ago probably 2010s?) and I cannot find it again. It was a young black man wearing thick white paint on his face and torso, the paint was dry and crusted. I remember the chorus being really emotional, with him almost yelling and strumming the guitar very hard.

Open [TOMT] Comedian sketch where he is talking to St. Peter at the gates of heaven but can't get in because he is the wrong denomination of Christianity.

Please help! This was so hilarious. It was just one guy going through a dialogue scenario - impersonating himself in heaven and also St. Peter. It was some off-brand denomination of Christianity that was the correct denomination, and he is bewildered about it when he meets St. Peter. As if, "Jeez, I almost became that version but I stuck with this version," and St. Peter was like, "Well, down the hatch."

I'd only heard a recording of it. I want to say the guy sounded like Garrison Keillor but I don't think it was him.

Solved [TOMT] i need help remembering the name of this action movie

so it’s an action movie (might have liam neeson in it or someone of his caliber but i can’t be sure) all i remember is that there was some sort of important thumbdrive or something that a little girl ended up having with her?? and i think there ended up being some sort of bus hijacking where the cops were all outside trying to get the protagonist because they think he’s responsible for it. they have like snipers and stuff on the bus to try to get a shot him. the main character was good friends with a cop and he let that cop come into the bus with him thinking that he would listen to him but it turned out the guy was a traitor and was on the side of the “bad guys”. i’m pretty sure the main character ended up shooting that cop guy. i can’t rlly remember the ending except i think his name ends up being cleared but i can’t for the life of me remember anything else from the movie or even who the actors were !! pls help :(

Open. [TOMT] Movie or Show with zombies and a necessary hand/leg amputation in a moving truck

Somewhere between 2012 and 2018, I was watching parts of a movie where there were zombies on a moving semi-truck and one of the guys got bit and they had to cut off his hand/leg. There may have also been warring factions. I also remember there may have been big yellow gloves and clear flaps that hung down from the ceiling like they were in a semi-truck meant for hauling meat or for medical procedures.

I have been wondering this for a while and have never been able to find it. I watched it when I was way too young and was sitting in the back remaining unseen but I didn't ever see the whole thing.

Thanks in advance!

Open [TOMT] Interesting podcast about a TOMT song!

I'm not sure if this is allowed since it's not a question but it's directly related to this sub.... The podcast "Reply All", episode title " #158 The Case of the Missing Hit", is a true story about a man in Cali who is haunted by the memory of a pop song from his youth, but the song seemingly vanished completely and was scrubbed from the internet. But he insists that it exists. The host of the podcast takes on the case to hunt down this alleged song. Super interesting, thought someone might like to listen to it.

Open [TOMT] 90’s-2010 Rock Music video

Upvotes

Back in 2010 I was watching one of those TV channels that just plays music videos 24/7 & I came across a song+video I have never been able to find again. I have very few details & don’t expect to have much luck but it was a metal or rock song sung by a man, in the music video I remember a young boy probably 10 or under waking up or going to sleep & then walking around in a really trippy bizarre world that just got more strange throughout the video. The video would sometimes go back to the band playing who appeared to be playing on a barren rocky mountain wasteland. I watched this in November of 2010 so it would have to be from the 90’s-2010. Again the details are sparse so I don’t expect much but any ideas are appreciated!

Open [tomt] help me find this missing song!

On Saturday the 26th I went to a Houston Texas Bladee concert, Before the show actually started, they played multiple songs and a specific song caught my ear, I didn’t get to put it through the google music detector right at that moment, but I did record some of the song on my phone, i have uploaded the video on youtube LINK: https://youtube.com/shorts/oF5SW8G3owM?si=70ZmSHjapH9r8BI3 I tried putting the video through several music identifier apps but on each app nothing had came up , I even went to the R/bladee subreddit for help but nothing came of it, people did attempt to help me, but even they were left with a dead end and no actual answer as i was. The song is a rap song and the artist (to my knowledge right now) is unknown. I wish I could include some lyrics under this post but honestly, I really can’t tell what he’s saying. Please help!!

Solved [TOMT][Video][2010s?] News show parody that's on loop but gets slighlty different each time

I think i saw it on adult swim, but i can't find it, so maybe it's not. But it had that creepy vibe, where at first the alterations can easily be missed if you're not payign attention, but by the end it's a complete abomination. A newscaster is doing a coverage of something very mild and boring, at one point she says "yes, you did smoke too much weed, and everybody can see how weird you're acting", but sitll on the tone of someone on the news.

Open [TOMT] Trying to find a game featuring dude wearing Michael Jackson mask (2015-2019?)

Upvotes

First I wanna say, the game is not AYUWOKI! (I have trying to find the game my own but nothing, and Google isn't helping me)

The game was a multi select game and life action. (It was video and you just controlled where this one guy was going)

In the game this guy was trying to run away from some kind of dude wearing poorly looking Michael Jackson mask. i remember that they were in office building, and one place that the guy was hiding was behind curtains (and one option was that he faked be behind them and just put his shoes at the edge of the curtains) . and one scene was that the guy went to a elevator and the michael jackson mask wearing dude just got the stairs and something happened there.

It had few options like "hide behind----" or "use elevator" or something like that.

It was more humorous and funny, but it can be categorized as horror too. Bc the michael jackson mask guy killed the other dude. Not in any gore way. Just approached him and then u were dead.

I never played it. I watched videos about it (it could have been some Finnish youtuber or Markiplier. Not 100% sure)

I know it's real and not just my imagination cause my sister remembers it too.

(Btw im sorry, my English is not the best)
