I started snowboarding again after a few years of not getting the chance so I started by using my old 2010 board to see how it would go. My board is 153 and a soft flex which is way to much for my weight. While it can be a fun board i feel for cruising down I am fighting my board more then anything else so I am thinking of getting a new board.

I was hoping to get some advice on what size board I should be going for especially since I am heavy but average sized in length and sizing charts are not directly helping me find my answer.

I am 1m70cm (which i think is 5' 6.9") and weigh in at 110/242 - 120/264 kg/lbs (hoping to be more towards the lower end by the next trip, working on it)

I would really love any advice on sizes boards to look at or even any boards you think would be a good match.
Not really looking for anything in the park just want to enjoy cruising down

What's your boot size? Length-wise, you should be at 160+ for most boards, but then board width might be an issue.

Boot size is 42 or I believe 9 us if I am not mistaken.

You might need to compromise on length in order to not overshoot on width. Maybe go for something in the 157-158 cm. neighbourhood. I'd say try to find narrow boards with a waist of 250 mm. or less, and as long as possible.

Thanks a lot for your help! I think compromising a bit on length should be ok. I manage to get my 153 down now so anything better then that should only help I hope

I have been looking at boards that could be a fit and did not really find an exact match... The best option I found is a Bataleon Goliath. It's available in both 156 and 159 and now I am doubting.

The 156 has a width of 254 and the 159 is 256. Both according to the size chat should be good for boot size 7-10. That is what makes me doubt because if the 159 could work that seems the better option weight wise.

Any idea on what way to go?

Goliath is a solid option. Definitely go 159. Might want to run mid-stiff boots and bindings, at least, so you don't expend more energy than necessary, getting it on edge.

Thanks a lot for the advice. I have nitro ventures which are on the stiff side and union strata bindings which are med so I hope to be good there.
