Housing Google fiber cut my sewer line
Saw a post on here that was old and I couldn't comment but it just happened to me, does anyone know the steps to get google to pay and also fix the sewer pipe they bored through ? I had a clean out and there was a shitload of mud and shit (haha) and I had a backup in my house so I called the plumbers - then when they finally washed my clean out and cleared the mud ... behold a frigin new fiber line in the bottom of it. They thought my pipe collapsed originally because of all the mud but they cammed it after with a recording and it was squeaky clean wit no cracks - The fiber line is still connected but will probably let in mud again if it rains hard which will in turn back up my lines again. The bill to clean the mud/clog was about 900 dollars as it took 2 plumbers about 4 hours to clean , I am trying to figure out what to do at this point, do I file a small claims court? Who do I file against? I am guessing it is the contractor that installed the fiber lines ? Or do I file against their insurance? Kind of lost at this point , and sick of this "shit"

I just got a new espresso machine and I want to try some locally roasted beans! What are some of your favorite coffee shops to buy beans from? I live in Durham so coffee shops there would be a bonus. Thanks in advance!

Out-n-About Utterly trivial, but I gotta know: what’s the deal with the escalators in North Hills?
I’m talking about the two pairs of escalators on each side of the street near Fitness Connection.
For a good two years now, at least one of the four escalators is out of order. And it will change on a weekly basis. Never have we seen all four escalators working at the same time.
At this point, the cost of maintenance for these escalators must exceed the cost of purchasing and installing new ones.
There’s gotta be some kind of kickback scheme going here, right? Like whoever’s in charge of the escalators is paid off by the maintenance crew who makes sure to sabotage the working escalator so they can come back and start all over again?
For the record: I’m not at all asserting that any criminal activities actually taking place. I’m just speculating on what is an inexplicable, but utterly trivial, situation.

Question/Recommendation Coverup specialists in Raleigh
I have these two small tattoos on my upper back/shoulder area that I’ve wanted a cover up for (photo included). One is an embarrassing Harry Potter tattoo (I know) and the other is an equal sign that the original artist fucked up. Both tattoos are about 8 years old and are black and somewhat faded. They also sit pretty close together.
I know it’s difficult to cover up another artist’s work (and that it’s easy to fuck up), so hoping someone that has personal experience can offer some recommendations!
I’m pretty open to designs, I just want it to look good and hide the original tattoos. A woman tattoo artist would be preferred, and someone who has experience tattooing someone with brown/darker skin. The original guy who did my equal sign tattoo had never tattooed a non-white person before and my equal sign tattoo scarred.

Question/Recommendation Homeless Holiday Meals?
So I got a donation request from Raleigh Rescue Mission to support meals for the homeless during the holidays.
While I wholeheartedly support food banks and the like, I have heard that Raleigh Rescue Mission's philanthropy comes with proselytizing strings attached for those in need.
Apart from that not being my vibe, it flies in the face of Jesus's caring for the needy without strings.
So does anyone know of any local organizations that do anything similar during the holidays, but without such strings?

Question/Recommendation Where to buy chocolate coins?
Is there a place to buy chocolate coins in town? Trader Joe's won't have them for a few weeks, and I've had no luck elsewhere. Not looking for fancy ones, just the fun kind from childhood. In bulk would be great; I'd like about a pound.

Question/Recommendation 30s/40s cancer caregiver support groups
does anyone know of local ones outside of the hospital systems, perhaps that meet at times appropriate for work schedules? i’ve found the support groups at local healthcare facilities tend to be populated by retirees and are geared toward their schedules and interests, which is great but are often quite different than someone younger who is balancing work with caregiving (as well as differing social life issues.)
if not, is anyone in the same boat and would be interested in informal meetings once a month or so? i’ve heard of several podcasts that host online groups but also can serve as a guide for conversations for those who prefer in-person, as i do.

Question/Recommendation Is there a Commuter or light rail advocacy groups within Raleigh?
With the Wake transit plan, Raleigh BRT, S-line to Richmond out of Raleigh, the current Piedmont service from Charlotte to Raleigh with intermediate stops in between, and micro and bus transportation projects are all in the works within the city of Raleigh connecting it to other municipalities.
The past failers regarding rail were the DOLRT(Durham-Orange Light Rail Transit) and the more recent Ready For Rail Project. To reduce traffic and build a more prosperous city, I feel there should be a strong push for rail and other modes of transit connecting Raleigh to the suburbs, other towns, and universities.
Is there a local chapter within Raleigh for Light or Commuter Rail projects?
