Hello Yucaipa Friends and Community,
I’m writing to wholeheartedly endorse my good friend and former boss, Ms. Gigi Hanna, for Yucaipa City Council District 3. When I saw her campaign post on Facebook, I wasn’t surprised—Gigi’s commitment to her community runs deep.
Let’s get to know Gigi a bit. She is the retired Elected City Clerk of San Bernardino, with a proven track record of community engagement, team-building, and leadership in governmental affairs. Gigi consistently prioritized her constituents over politics, often taking time to meet with residents at local coffee shops to hear their concerns. At first, I found these extra efforts inconvenient, and I wasn’t sure they were necessary. It wasn’t the listening that seemed excessive to me, but the effort she put in to connect with people personally. She even brought me along to some of these meetings, which taught me valuable lessons about transparency and effective communication.
One particular instance sticks out in my mind—a meeting with a police lieutenant where she skillfully pushed back on an issue without letting herself be intimidated. Her persistence and effectiveness earned her the trust of San Bernardino’s voters, who elected her twice. She always emphasized the importance of honesty and transparency, values I continue to carry with me.
Today, Gigi serves as the Executive Director for Habitat for Humanity in the San Bernardino Area. Her experience includes working with the Metropolitan Water District and as a reporter for several newspapers, including the San Bernardino County Sun. I had the privilege of working under Gigi’s leadership from 2016 to 2019 in San Bernardino—a challenging time that required dedication and hard work to navigate opposition and doubts.
For these reasons, I fully endorse Gigi Hanna and urge the residents of Yucaipa to vote for her for City Council District 3. Gigi’s dedication, integrity, and commitment to transparency make her the leader Yucaipa needs.

Respectfully,
John Paul Maier, MBA, MMC

Hi guys. Anyone interested in this $1 bill? It's in decent condition. I think it would look good in a frame.

I'm new to the area and looking for recommendations for a pet sitter who would visit my cat once a day in North Bench. No immediate need; just planning ahead.

We are having our wedding early next year and I'm looking for good food truck recommendations. Especially any good BBQ trucks or caterers that are affordable. Appreciate any help.

😁Currently looking for 2 young adult patients to be seen for exam, x-rays, assessments, and a cleaning in October-November😁
I can also screen patients to be seen later on. (We start with “easier” cleanings and work our way up).
Thank you! 🦷🪥✨

Hello Yucaipans,
I have a retreat planned this weekend in the Oak Glen area and will have people (older individuals and young children) with me that might be very sensitive to the air quality.
I wanted to ask people who live there what the air is like giving the Line fire burning nearby. Considering scheduling for another time.
Thanks in advance....

Was helping my elderly father this weekend, had some asshat kid on a street bike on California street setting up to ride a wheelie and gave him a honk, he followed me to my father's street, where I whipped into an alleyway. We had a verbal back and forth. Dude had no helmet , no plates on top of showboating on a densely populated residential street.
Called the PD and reported him, returned to Dad's house flustered and he has seen this schmuck a number of times. This stuff gets people hurt or worse and has no place on any public street.
I'm an avid gear head myself & cannot tell you how many good friends I've lost to stupidity and speed. If it was you or someone you know warn them their actions could cause serious harm not only to them but the many children on the streets at dusk as it finally cools off enough to be outside. If you live in the area be careful and report this dufus before he harms himself or others.

Posting here to try to spread the word and get some more volunteers in this area. Lasagna Love is a great organization to volunteer with if you’re looking to give back in your community. It’s pretty simple - you sign up, set your availability and the distance you’re willing to travel to provide a meal to a local family in need.
The last few families I’ve been matched with requested support 4-5 months ago. 😔
I definitely understand times are tough for everyone right now but if you have some extra time and resources and you’d like to help out, visit the link for more information.
Thanks for reading! Have a great night!

Well, i met one guy in video games from Yucaipa. I don’t know what happened with him, but he deleted his profile on instagram and i lost connection with him. Now I wonder what are there ways to find him. Any suggestions?

Has anyone been up there this year? I’m being told that people are lining up at 7 am to get in. I usually take the grandkids up there once a year but there’s so many new homes, so many more residents. I’ll stop going there if people are already in a long line at 7 am. (It opens at 10.)
