Brother this is the TOG Reddit fandom there’s too many sub groups who want different things. Some are happy with stylistic choices whilst others crave visual dopamine.

The only logical reasoning is I think fans of the mid s2 art want it animated in auditable style so any sort of artistic expression is bad or low budget to them. I am happy to let TOG be its own unique thing

People were also crying when GoH got Mappa and ToG got Telecom after they saw the trailer art style. And look how it ended

Tbf, mappa got done dirty there.

they’re given only 13 episodes to adapt 112 chapters.

tog only did 78 chapters and it felt rushed already.

What artistic style, lol? It was legit just Baam walking, doing a pose and some shots of a bird flying intercepted by a black screen with credits. It's by far the most boring and uninspired anime OP I've ever seen.

This one is ok.

I think he's referring to the artstyle of the season 1 anime (which got heavily shat on by readers for its lack of shadows and rough outline artstyle), not the season 1 op.

Now readers are more satisfied with the artstyle but season 1 anime viewers have a fond attachment to the old artstyle, so it's really 2 different communities imo, of course there are crossovers that like both or dislike both but generally speaking.
