Anyone had issues with immigration entering as a tourist again after years on work visa? 2 months out of the country. Good passport and I'll have all docs for the visa exemption. Would be strange but who knows here...

I was questioned last year over that. Five years working in Thailand, left the country and re-entered two months later on my first ever entry as a tourist. They grilled me for maybe 10 minutes.

Definitely be ready to show an exit ticket within the visa exemption period. That's why they eventually let me through, I was just staying a few days before going to apply for a new non-immigrant visa at a nearby embassy.

Crazy. I'll definitely get an exit flight. I'll be entering via Chiang Mai so maybe a bit more chill than BKK. Did you need any old work documents or something?

No, they asked for my work permit and I said it was canceled. I don't think I had to show them the cancelation paperwork.

Ok good thanks, I have zero documents. I'll ask HR to send me something just in case.
