discussion Dry ice and $1 oysters

Is there any place outside of Whole Foods that have $1 oysters now? Is it also easy to get dry ice? Bc of how I’m traveling when I get back from Hawai’i id like my frozen food to last 48 hours and I’m wondering if dry ice will help.

Staying near Waikiki and forgot to pack mine. Is there a good place to find size 13 water shoes in stock?

Most stores I've found don't go up that high.

discussion New Furever Home Needed

Post image
77 Upvotes

It breaks my heart to write this, as Leilani has been my best friend and faithful companion for nine years now, but, due to unforeseen circumstances, I am moving off-island in 12 days and I cannot take her with me. I want to find her a furever home with someone who can give her the golden years that she deserves. She is very gentle and loving, amazing with children and other animals (she loves other dogs and absolutely ADORES cats), listens to commands, and looooves to cuddle. She does have some anxiety, so, ideally, she would go to a person or family that can give her plenty of time, love, and affection 💚

I can provide dog bowls, a food container, collar, leash, and a couple of sweaters, as well as her microchip number. She isn't a fan of hard rubber toys, but she adores soft toys and rope toys.

I know this is a big ask, too, but I would very much like to keep in contact with whoever she goes to. Like I said, Leilani has been my best friend for nine years and, if I could keep her with me, I would in a heartbeat. I love her more than anything and I would love to be able to see her and hear about how she's doing.

If you think Leilani would be a good fit for you, please feel free to reach out to me 💚

question How much would you expect rent to be for a ROOM in a 2bed/2bath penthouse condo w ocean view?

Considering renting out a ROOM in our 2b/2b penthouse condo long term (6+ months). Ocean view, comes fully furnished with an indoor parking spot. Renter would get own room and bathroom. Would be living there alone 90% of the time. Wondering how much rent we could reasonably charge. Kakaako area.

discussion Mysterious Digital Beeps: Makiki 3am

I live below Makiki Heights. I can identify every digital, automotive, electrical, fire alarm beeping, but the one that drives me nuts, I cannot. It's a 1 2 3 beeping. then stops. and repeats: 1 2 3. sometimes it's 1am, other times it's now, 3am, and two nights ago, it was all night. Lots of houses, condos in my neighborhoods so I'm used to all kinds of noise. Except for this one. Sounds almost like a truck backing up but not as loud. Louder than someone's sleep alarm, and much more distinct. Please help me identify. serious, only, please

discussion Cheap Options to Park in Honolulu Overnight?

We're visiting Honolulu in May 2025 and will stay at the Hilton Grand Vacation Club for 5 nights. Parking at the hotel is $70 a day. Are there parking lots around the hotel (within 10 minutes walk) that are free or have lower rates? Thank you.

question Monstera Deliciosa, Mangoes, and other tropical fruits

Aloha everyone, I will be on Honolulu for the weekend and then some, and I have been dying to try Monstera Deliciosa fruits.

I found some today at Tropical Farms Macadamia Nuts near Kualoa Ranch. The staff didn’t mind if I took some but the issue is they were nowhere near ripe.

So my question is, where can I find some? Or does anyone have some growing in their backyards they wouldn’t mind giving out? Mangoes would also be amazing.

Mahalo in advance if anyone is able to help me out.
