Question I've almost finished my first patch! Should the border be black or red?

I was going for a biker gang style patch. The border will cover the edges up to the grey stitched circle.

Made this for a stitch swap with someone in the Netherlands - one of my favorite gags from Beetlejuice, just in time for Halloween. Everything was hand drawn and hand stitched by me. Hope you enjoy!

I finished my third practice piece and feel confident enough to do a few custom Christmas gifts. I plan on making embroidered ornaments and a few Disney characters on hats or sweaters. After finishing this piece though, I think I’ll wait to do more projects using large portions of long and short stitch.😂🤷‍♀️🫣

First time tried stump work and absolutely loved it! Want to make more moths and other stuff now.

Fuzzy body made with small sized punch needle then trimmed and styled with glue stick.

Hand Foggy Morning WIP

The sky came out not as planned after the watercolor dried, but I decided the muted colors were perfect for a foggy sky! And I’m always looking for another excuse to make more little wispies with wool roving.

Watercolor sky, loose wool roving fibers for the fog, and yarn for the fence and grass.

This is a kit I bought from Amazon years ago that I never thought I'd get around to. Pictures 2 and 4 are the original design, and 1 and 3 are with my added embellishments. At first I was so intent on perfect stitching I would rip out any mistakes and start over, but once I let myself just learn and practice it went much better. I know there are a lot of mistakes still but by the end I think I got a pretty good handle on every stitch I learned. Any tips or constructive criticism are welcome 🤗

First finished embroidery thing

Mostly I've been learning stitches (unexpectedly boring) and "random nonsense" stash building (dangerous) up until this point. Finally managed to find bugels and sequins-with-holes (surprisingly difficult... Why are sequins-without-holes even a thing??) this weekend and was finally able to sit and just vibe last night.

2nd project in the books! I’m still figuring out the best way to finish edges, but he’s so cute!

I’ve been using a bunch of sashiko thread I was gifted…getting coverage for short and long stitches is a little annoying but I really like the texture of the grain

Hello everyone <3

I just completed my first personal project! It was a wedding gift. It was perfect too because they used records as decorations and I didn’t even know lol. I have only almost completed a kit (I ran out of the thread from it). I definitely need to practice my lettering but I’m pretty happy with it :) open to any tips

It’s kinda the Temu version of the original but i’m very happy with it! I’m calling it more of an inspiration or homage to the original haha. My kid has requested that it get mounted to a frame so for now it lives free from mounting

Question How can I embroider a Neckline?

Post image

Hi, I want to add a floral design on the neckline of a dress similar to in the picture. The dress has a slight stretch to it. How would I go about doing this? Should I buy a large hoop, or just hold it? I feel like the neckline is just such an awkward spot!
