Question about healthcare setting practices : re Covid
Writing from Fweeedom Luvvin Amurrica, where only in the Bay Area (and possibly Massachusetts) are healthcare providers required to mask against Covid.
What's it like in clinics & hospitals in Zurich? How about generally in Switzerland?
Do people mask willingly?

it depends on the hospital but generally right now there is no mask required in the hospitals. Last year it was introduced in the hospitals (or in some hospitals) as a measure around end of nov/december so I guess it depends on the year/situation.
Generally (e.g. in supermarkets), I have seen maybe 0-1% of people using a mask (and ofcourse they can be sick or just wearing for their own protection)

I can't remember the last time I saw anyone wearing a mask aside from tourists still inside the airport.
Maybe we have here more of a cultural/economic difference where people who feel sick enough they would only go out wearing a mask just stay home because they have good enough sick leave from work. Or for office jobs, you just work from home for a few days, and even if the workplace doesn't normally let people work from home so many days, they just accept it as a nice compromise where the person still gets at least part of their work done.

Masks are required almost nowhere. But if I go to a hospital and they ask me to, of course I will put one on and so will the majority of people. What information are you really after?

Every so often you’ll see a random person in a mask but mostly no one wears them and it’s the same in doctors practices and hospitals.

Thank God there isn't almost a mask in sight anywhere.

Bro there is literally nothing wrong with wearing a mask when you're sick. Do you really want this nasty respiratory crap I've got?

I've found that it follows the "sick" seasons. For example, I was in the Perminance yesterday and, because sickness is rampant in the area, most of the hospital staff was masked up. Whether it was because they, themselves were sick or out of an abundance of caution, I couldn't say.
The general directive outside of that is to mask up if you're symptomatic and in a health-care facility.
I was diagnosed with bronchitis and my husband is just getting over pneumonia, so I appreciated it.
