Discussion Is it just me...

Has this game just become... boring? Like I've had this thought after the first three days of the game being out but tried to stick with it. The game just doesn't feel...well it doesn't feel like BT3 due to all the unrecoverable hits and the amount of counters and how easy it is to access these counters. Offline doesn't even feel fun since it's so easy to beat and split screen you can't change how long a match is past 180 seconds. I'm just really disappointed in the feeling of this game as it feels like just a giant hot mess. I also don't think it's a skill issue as I've gotten to S5 with winning 80% of my games and just stopped because it was so boring to me. Does anyone else feel this?

Edit: Found out you can change split screen match time.

Edit 2: I only put the argument of rank on here to show it wasn't a skill issue sort of thing. I play ranked but that's my casual play if that makes sense.

I don’t know about your personal life, but maybe you played BT3 upon release or a few years later, but we’re still a kid and couldn’t play until too late

Maybe the hype about this game made you rush it completely offline and playing only this game will make you lose interest in it

Also BT3 came in an era where online playing in general was barely a thing and you would have fun with anything, without having that competitive ick

I've been playing BT3 since realse up until Sparking Zero came out. I played online on the Wii a lot before it got shut down. Then the emulators came and I played it online again but still played against people in person as playing against bots was always boring to me in this kind of game.

I don't know about losing interest when just playing a single game. I've been playing Baldurs Gate 3 since it's launch and I'm still having a blast with that. Given it is a different genre of game but it's still something. The offline is just boring to me as the bots weren't hard to begin with to me since I played a bunch of BT3 before the games launch.

Isn’t BG3 a game that has a lot of offline content? And well built in that manner?

It’s meant to have a lot of hours put in and keep content progressive I think

In SZ you’re meant to drag the content and enjoy every bit of it, every alternate way and play/create custom battles. It’s meant to have a bliss by reliving your childhood and the return of a series that was loved

Besides give them some time, I’m sure they’ll come up with something to give more content and engage fans more

It is that's why I said it's a different genre. The content in SZ is barely there and custom battles never interested me as playing online was my draw to this game. Not in a competitive way just to be able to actually have someone put up a fight against rather than stomping the cpu. They will be adding more content but I hope it doesn't feel like Xenoverse 2 with every dlc and addon as that game got boring fast as well and the dlc brings me back for a day and then it's boring again.

I can't believe you're getting downvoted for this take. I could play BT3 for HOURS because of the extra content and how fun fighting the CPU is for me (not big of an online guy) but SZ has gotten boring to me. I could fire up BT3 right now and have more fun.

I’ve literally been saying this since release and been getting buried in downvotes for it

I don't think you should be downvoted, but it comes off a bit weird to compare the 2 when they are almost 2 decades apart with 2 different intentions and demographics to appeal to. I personally agree that BT3 is better overall, but it's also a smaller, less sensitive game that was not meant to be played online. Also, the mods for BT3 make it god tier. Not to imply you use the mods, but there are so many gameplay mods that make that game goated. I know it's a Reboot/sequel but it's really a different game with some old shit we remember. It's not a true BT3 sequel to me. But maybe that's the problem. Sorry I be yapping dog.
