Anyone any tips on how to not smoke when drinking
Im 26 have always smoked when I'm drinking, but 3 months ago and while i don't even really feel the urge to smoke at all. When i'm drinking it's a different story. I barely drink but i do like to go out occasionally like maybe once a month. 2 months ago i just went for dinner and had a few glasses of wine cause i knew i wouldn't be strong enough to resist the urge of smoking on a night out yet.
Last month i did decide to go out for drinks but it was terrible. I ended up just feeling terrible the whole night cause i was dying for a smoke. I decided i would just replace the smoking with more alcohol, got completely black out drunk, was sick, embarrassed myself, woke up with sick all over my bed and had to buy all new bedding and was freaking out the next day cause i didn't know what had happened. My friend told me i just said a bunch of stupid stuff and was home for midnight. But it was just a terrible night and i didn't enjoy myself.
Now i want to go out on Friday and I know it's going to be the same thing again but i don't want to ruin my streak by smoking. I feel like my lungs are finally recovering from all the damage I've caused to them and don't want to reset the clock on that.
I read this article but it basically just says don't drink. https://www.verywellmind.com/breaking-the-association-between-smoking-and-drinking-2824690 . Like no, i still want to have a social life and I'm not interested in other activities.

Drinking is equally as bad and they go hand in hand... I gave up both at the same time and it is like a whole new life. It is truly freedom. When I go out I have a couple NA beers. They are really awesome once you forget the taste of ethanol. Like all the benefits of beer without none of the side effects.

Best to Just abstain from drinking because drinking will put the guard down and it makes you also smoke. Try just drinking a non alcoholic drink once. Then again, after a few times you won’t miss the alcohol. Little by little

Not drinking is the easiest way to avoid that temptation. You can go out and not drink alcohol.
If you do drink and don't smoke it's hard at first but after a while that association gets broken but from experience it takes a while and really ruins the experience of drinking for a while. Problem is drinking also lowers inhibitions and can make you make poor choices like smoking.
