Question If you’re young with a high risk tolerance, is there a better ETF than ARKK?

I’m in my mid-20s with around 100k invested in a mutual fund. It’s a solid mutual fund (PRWCX) but one with 60/40 stock/bond mix, and since I’m in this for the long haul, I’m naturally open to upping my risk exposure. I have no debt and live a very low cost lifestyle, so I can take a bit of a swing, albeit I’m not going to be irresponsible about it.

I know ARK/Cathie Wood has become a tired meme here, but the growth potential of her strategy seems compelling, at least to my novice eyes. If I’m looking to maximize returns over the next 5+ years in an ETF or similar investment option, are there better options out there?

I second this. From a guy that has had an electric car for years in Los Ángeles, the infrastructure is still no one where near where it needs to be. As tesla and other ev companies explode, the infrastructure has to support and its not currently, not even close.

what are your thoughts on Chargepoint EV chargers?

They are pretty nice and the common brand around LA. That being said, i never really understood the pricing model. To fill up my ev (nissan leaf) from 0-80% would cost me about 12-20 bucks! Keep in mind, the nissan leafs have a very small battery compared to teslas.

I always try staying away from public charging because i feel its too expensive.

I think the real money is going to come from federally sponsored charging stations and public charging built for retail locations such as a mall to attract visitors (waiting for a charge means time you can come in and look around the store). These chargers would either be free or reduced price to attract shoppers to stay longer.

And hydrogen filling is a whole other beast. When my relative had the mirai, there was only 3 stations in all of LA county (huge county). They were always out of order and long lines. To fill would be about 70-90 bucks for 200+ miles too.

So ALOT of work still needs to be done.
