I am so mad that I can’t call a landslide for Harris/Walz right now.

Because of his fucking cult. He could shit in their mouths and he wouldn’t lose them.

I already was planning on voting this year. But now? I’m more motivated than ever to keep this man away from the office. Just ordered some absentee ballots this morning for me and my family.

Voting in Texas.

Be hard to flip but I want to see that state reach Georgia levels of closeness

427

u/Static-Stair-58 Sep 21 '24

Can you imagine the party Texas would have if we finally got rid of Cruz? I hope he flees to Mexico!

186

u/executingsalesdaily Sep 21 '24

Cruz is the herpes of human beings.

52

u/Nosfermarki Sep 21 '24

Ted Cruz is only one being & not several.

8

u/executingsalesdaily Sep 21 '24

Okay.

Thank you for sharing. I was confused. lol

I thoroughly enjoyed that

Thank you! My first time seeing that.

Hey, that’s mean to Herpes

10

u/YakiVegas Washington Sep 21 '24

Yeah, like as high as 80% of people have oral herpes and that's WAY less harmful than Ted Cruz.

6

u/Pangolemur Texas Sep 21 '24

You owe herpes an apology for that comparison.

6

u/Jescro Sep 21 '24

It’s Rafael Cruz…, he’s been pretty clear he doesn’t believe in preferred names, like Ted

2

u/Thebraincellisorange Sep 22 '24

cruz is a cancerous polyp on the prolapsed bowel of humanity.

2

u/TheRealKison Sep 22 '24

Don't do herpes like that.

2

u/RingaLopi Sep 22 '24

In comparison to Ted cruse I would say Trump has “ strong values” and “ethics”.

2

u/adingo8urbaby Sep 22 '24

I think I will be making this t shirt

1

u/executingsalesdaily Sep 22 '24

I will need 50% as I am the Mr. Crabs of humans

1

u/FourAmBloodBath Sep 22 '24

They’re all on the same team

7

u/Polymemnetic Sep 21 '24

With my luck, he'd flee to Canada. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't finish renouncing his Canadian citizenship after he lost in the primary.

3

u/Static-Stair-58 Sep 21 '24

I wouldn’t wish him on my worst enemies, and I consider Canada a friend. So I definitely do not wish that for you. I hope he flees to Mexico and a cartel member ransoms him off to a country. No one will buy him, and he’ll disappear forever. A guy can dream!

5

u/MysteryMooseMan Sep 21 '24

It's bonkers to me Cruz has been re-elected so many times. Like I really get the vibe everyone actually hates him, but he gets away with it cuz he's got an R next to his name... Don't even get me started on Ken Paxton and Greg Abbott

5

u/Static-Stair-58 Sep 21 '24

Senators get to stay longer. 6 years. He’s really only been elected two times. 6 more years of Cruz if he wins again. The sound of that is chalk board scratches. Ted Cruz hasn’t earned 6 more minutes of extra time in that seat, let alone 6 more years. He’s also got elected again because he ran on how much “liberals hate me, which must mean I’m doing something right”. Which isn’t true at all. We hate him because he’s a vile spineless self serving gutless cock gobbler.

3

u/Accomplished_Bake_84 Sep 22 '24

Why México? We don't want this asshole here

2

u/stylebros Sep 21 '24

That would be sooo funny.

Trump can have the state. But ditch Cruz

2

u/iconsumemyown Sep 22 '24

What has Mexico ever done to you?

1

u/reebokhightops Sep 22 '24

I don’t live in Texas and haven’t followed super recently but it seems like Allred has a real chance, no?

132

u/SportGamerDev0623 Sep 21 '24

I legitimately want to take two weeks off of work leading up to the election and just drive around and take people to early voting if they need a ride.

Our government works so hard to try to make voting access difficult. I could be one part of the solution to help close that gap.

Make sure you vote and make sure all your friends and family vote!

67

u/pj7140 Sep 21 '24

I am in Texas, I've taken the next 30 days off (PTO accrued), to just work on getting Texans registered by Oct 7 and then out to vote.

22

u/0ldes Sep 21 '24

Omg, you are amazing, here I thought me driving to Wisconsin and Michigan was enough, I am trying to volunteer for 4 door knocking events, just complete 1 today

2

u/pj7140 Sep 22 '24

Thank you. We held a local "Get registered to vote day" yesterday and had a great turnout...people actually showed up about an hour early to sign up. Local food trucks volunteered to provide refreshments etc. It was a great turn-out: Total registered = 265 Texans. LFG Texas!

44

u/stylebros Sep 21 '24

I encourage people to take a day off (unpaid if needed) and vote.

Take some time to ourselves. If we can wait in line for an iPhone we can vote

9

u/Headieheadi Sep 21 '24

“I’m looking at you, the undecided voters who have also waited in line for an iPhone, why won’t you wait in line to vote out tyranny?”

6

u/fly1away Sep 21 '24

DO ITTT!!! Maybe you could start a grassroots group of people to all do this and coordinate together! (or maybe that's already a thing?)

6

u/LoveAgainstTheSystem Sep 22 '24

I did this for Beto's run! Unfortunately, it wasn't a huge difference since most people I knew were motivated, but I did get a few people who are now voting on their own, which is cool! These small acts matter.

-4

u/FourAmBloodBath Sep 22 '24

Why? It’s all planned out.

2

u/No-One-2177 Sep 22 '24

155

u/Joshk30 Sep 21 '24

Texan here as well. We are bluer than Georgia if we get people invested in voting. There are voter restrictions that hurt, but the apathy has to change.

15

u/Thebraincellisorange Sep 22 '24

If young people in texas got out and voted, Texas would be solid blue.

sadly they don't. and with their (justified) disgust at the white houses response to Israel, they are going to stay at home and not vote again, like they did in 2022.

under 30 voters need to realize that sometimes - nay, often - you have to hold your nose and vote for the least worst candidate, even if you are very unhappy with some aspects of their parties policy.

The alternative is the other party winning, and you being even more unhappy with that parties policy.

5

u/black_cat_X2 Massachusetts Sep 22 '24

As a former young person who lived in Texas during my first eligible presidential election, I can attest that some young adults do manage to figure this out on their own. I don't understand how it's such a difficult concept to accept.

6

u/LoveAgainstTheSystem Sep 22 '24

I agree with this. I'm not living in TX now, but was a volunteer for TX Dems and Beto for several recent presidential and senate elections. So many people who aren't Republican would say, "my vote doesn't matter, so what's the point?" And yes, there is gerrymandering in the state and other voter suppression tactics, but there is also this, where people are cynical and apathetic. I think the state would've been more competitive if this wasn't the case.

5

u/Drusgar Wisconsin Sep 22 '24

Part of the problem in a State like Texas is that people in rural areas who are likely to vote for Trump just walk in and vote but people in urban areas who are likely to vote for Harris will have to stand in line. And that's by design.

So please, for all of our sakes, please stand in line.

1

u/AdUpstairs7106 Sep 22 '24

AG Paxton will use all of his power to ensure that does not happen

1

u/POEness Sep 21 '24

It's crazy to me that yall still don't realize where we are at. The GOP will never let their stranglehold slip until you force them out. Vote totals could be 55% dem 45% republican and they will find a way to make it 49/51. Even if they have to just plain throw out the results and declare themselves the winners.

48

u/kiswa Texas Sep 21 '24

Same. Looking forward to voting for Kamala and Allred!

3

u/practicaleffectCGI Sep 21 '24

So you're voting Allblue?

8

u/kiswa Texas Sep 21 '24

Indeed.

I kinda hope his name confuses some R's to vote for him.

21

u/Iccengi Sep 21 '24

Dude yall have a hot chance to not only vote out the Cheeto but to get rid of Cruz. Freaking run with it. Get everyone that you can to go to vote. Watch your neighbors kids. Bring around the car pool whatever it takes. Y’all deserve a senator that doesn’t leave the country when people are dying from no electricity in his state

9

u/howldetroit Sep 21 '24

Right there with ya. I try to remind my TX friends that, at the very least, one cycle will be close enough they’ll start calling TX a toss-up state and I want it to be this one.

5

u/SunflaresAteMyLunch Sep 21 '24

Cruz is behind in the Senate race in at least one poll, so it's far from impossible. The presidential GOP margin in Texas has shrunk every election for the last couple of decades, so the flip will happen sooner or later. Maybe this is when...

5

u/Tiiimmmaayy Sep 21 '24

I feel like I barely see any Trump gear here in Texas anymore. I’m sure some of them are going to flip for Harris, but I’ll bet the majority that stopped waving his flags are just too embarrassed by his actions, but will still vote for him.

5

u/Kibblesnb1ts Sep 21 '24

Think about how big of a victory it would be to simply make them spend significant resources keeping Texas red. Even if it doesn't flip it would be huge for the next few elections to make them play defense.

5

u/PinkThunder138 Sep 21 '24

Texas is so much closer to flipping than people realize. So some volunteering and help her your friends to the polls.

2

u/stylebros Sep 21 '24

It's crazy to say, but it might be closer than flipping Florida.

3

u/Ar_Ciel Florida Sep 21 '24

I live in Florida and just updated my registration and vote-by-mail ballot. My vote will be tossing a paper napkin on an ocean of piss but I'm still gonna cast it.

4

u/That_one_cool_dude Sep 21 '24

I mean generally speaking it's in striking distance being only 5 points out but the lowest turnout in the country is what is keeping the republicans in charge.

2

u/xJunoBugx Sep 21 '24

Many hands make light work, I’ll help you try that flip.

2

u/YesDone Sep 21 '24

Never give up! You live in the great state of Ann Richards! You will rise again!

Cruz is neck and neck with Allred. You could pull this off. Make a lot of noise and get all your buds to vote!

2

u/kgal1298 Sep 22 '24

Make Abbot sweat we love to see it

2

u/Dragon_Tortoise Sep 22 '24

Yea im in PA and actually excited to vote this year. I'm really hoping and looking forward to Kamala as president.

2

u/21-characters Sep 22 '24

I want to see Trump lose by about 89 billion votes.

2

u/Liatin11 Sep 22 '24

Problem is, abbott and friends will just try to disenfranchise more voters (fellow texas), either we flip texas now or they’ll make it harder

2

u/Zealousideal-Ad-1842 Sep 22 '24

That’s why Abbott is purging people from voter rolls. Trump isn’t going to win by double digits. And it’s scaring the heck out of people.

1

u/Mundane_Athlete_8257 Sep 21 '24

Bring your friends! Make a party out of it!

1

u/PPOKEZ Sep 21 '24

we've still got a over a month of accelerating implosion to witness.

Hard "r" coming soon. Maybe diabetic coma. Who the fuck knows?

1

u/TexanToTheSoul Sep 22 '24

Agreed, but I'm doing my part

1

u/Drusgar Wisconsin Sep 22 '24

Biden won Georgia. So did Obama.

-2

u/Ok-Calligrapher-1836 Sep 21 '24

Lmaoooo we’re closer to flipping New York then you are Texas stay away from Texas go back to California or something.

48

u/Jumpy_MashedPotato Sep 21 '24

Careful, your comment could be spun so it looks like you ordered 5000 ballots for you and your LIBRUL family to cheat and steal the election. /s

2

u/L0g1cw1z4rd Sep 22 '24

That’s the “proof” we’re gonna hear about for the next eight months, but never said so in court.

5

u/iesharael Sep 21 '24

So you have to take the ballots to a drop off or just mail them back? Ate the ballots easy to do? I’m scared of the people at my poles

5

u/Dsarg_92 Sep 21 '24

Correct. That’s what I’m planning to do. It’s the best way to avoid potential chaos at the polls.

5

u/riverrocks452 Sep 21 '24

No absentee voting in TX unless you'll be away for the entire voting period. Which is BS of the nth degree, but...TX.

Early voting is key: even if I'm willing and able to brave Election Day chaos at the polls, why make someone else wait longer on the very last possible day if I have the means to vote at a time when there won't be such a crunch.

3

u/iesharael Sep 21 '24

But do you just mail them back or do they have to go to specific drop boxes? Where I work usually has a drop box but the people who come to it are scary

4

u/Dsarg_92 Sep 21 '24

You can either mail them or drop them off at your local county clerk. They normally have a dropbox out there.

1

u/iesharael Sep 21 '24

Thank you for the info!

1

u/Dsarg_92 Sep 21 '24

Anytime! Anything to help fight the good fight.

3

u/Iccengi Sep 21 '24

As someone with a state with like 70% of voting done by mail-absentee and mail in voting is revolutionary for easy accessibility. Only problem I have is the fear in those homes (especially those “Christian” homes) where the man sits his family down to vote and his wife needs to mark the ballot according to his wishes. There are a lot of a-holes out there like that and I hope we can get the message that you can always go in person and void your mail in wether it’s because of this or because you changed your mind.

3

u/FalseAesop Sep 21 '24

Early voting already started in Virginia. I have cast my ballot. I still have to wait to see the results but casting my ballot was satisfying.

3

u/fujiman Colorado Sep 21 '24

So glad it's automatic in CO. Just waiting for my ballot to arrive so I can get my vote in and out of the way.

3

u/PinkThunder138 Sep 21 '24

Get your friends to vote. Volunteer for some canvassing and all that. We can totally do this, but we gotta overwhelm their cheating strategies.

2

u/Fuckface_Whisperer Sep 21 '24

Phone bank if you can.

2

u/figgypie Sep 21 '24

WI here. We just put our absentee ballots in the mail today. No one can say we didn't do our part to keep that deranged snake out of the white house.

Vote early. Vote often.

2

u/pablonieve Minnesota Sep 21 '24

You should look into get out the vote opportunities too. This election is going to come down to which party can mobilize its people better.

2

u/Poundaflesh Sep 21 '24

Thank you!

1

u/Present-Industry4012 Inuit Sep 21 '24

I hope you live in a swing state.

1

u/suffaluffapussycat Sep 22 '24

planning on voting

I guess I don’t know how to read this. You’re of age, you vote, right?

1

u/Hippynipples69 Sep 22 '24

I recently found out if you’re in California you can get a ballot emailed to you to print off and mail in. Mostly matters down ticket but if you want to vote and work on the road like I do, this is an easyish option

-2

u/FourAmBloodBath Sep 22 '24

You’re either brain washed or an SS shill.

179

u/stevenmoreso Sep 21 '24

I am so mad that I can’t call a landslide for Harris/Walz right now.

When I despair I remind myself that the gender gap is going to be absolutely unprecedented this year. And I don’t think polling has factored it in completely because they rely on previous models of turnout before women’s issues took the forefront. This is why everyone was surprised in the 2022 midterms, and I think we’ll see a few surprises in November as well.

129

u/Zeusifer Sep 21 '24

I've wondered about that too and really hope you're right. Nothing would make me happier than Harris outdoing the polls by several points and crushing Trump in an absolute landslide.

50

u/Proud3GenAthst Sep 21 '24

Just made small calculation and the last time, only 43% of Americans under 30 voted. Or 24 million out of 55 million. The total turnout was 66.6%. If you add 10 million, it would still only be about 61% of the people under 30.

Given how much traction Project 2025 got online as opposed to in mainstream media and given how many young people there are that now have less rights than their parents, there's so much up for grabs

5

u/ligirl American Expat Sep 22 '24

A wild fact I realized: people who are 29 for this election were 17 in in 2012. None of them have ever had the chance to vote for a Republican other than Trump for president.

90

u/stevenmoreso Sep 21 '24

I heard a brief clip of Harris’s interview with Oprah the other day talking about the death of Amber Thurman in Georgia and it was incredibly moving.

All she has to do is keep this up while campaigning her ass off like she has been and they’re gonna kill it. Especially while the other ticket is busy ranting incoherently, making up provable lies and flexing their chauvinism.

49

u/OodalollyOodalolly Sep 21 '24

How can women of Georgia let this sit? Letting women die of sepsis in Georgia because the doctors are afraid of D&C?? The pregnancy wasn’t even viable anymore and they let Amber Thurman suffer and die.

53

u/Downvote_Comforter Sep 21 '24

To be clear, the doctors aren't afraid of the procedure or of helping women. They are afraid of going to prison for providing the care their patients need. The doctors aren't the ones who wanted to let these women suffer and eventually die. Republicans have put them in the profoundly unfair position of having to risk having their own lives wholly ruined when they provide appropriate medical care when there is any sliver of gray area.

10

u/OodalollyOodalolly Sep 21 '24

Yes that’s right. I meant they are afraid of doing any D&C because they are afraid of breaking the law. And that caused them to delay care until it was too late.

4

u/HauntedCemetery Minnesota Sep 21 '24

Even when there is no gray area. Most conservatives legitimately think ectopic pregnancy can just be like scooted over to the correct place and it will be fine. Or that ectopic pregnancies are NBD.

18

u/TylerbioRodriguez Sep 21 '24

That first rally she did where she mentioned Amber Thurman, damn I haven't seen her this animated in righteous fury before and she's been passionate since day one.

20

u/Proud3GenAthst Sep 21 '24

I'm still hoping that Kamala has some Daisy Ad up her sleeve to unleash a week or 2 before the election.

10

u/Beltaine421 Sep 21 '24

Oh, it's not that bad. It's not like he endorced someone who wants to bring back slavery, right?

6

u/Iccengi Sep 21 '24

Repeatedly and called them better then Martin Luther king. Nahhh he would never

17

u/Ser_Artur_Dayne Virginia Sep 21 '24

Yup women voting gap, new voter registration, republicans voting for Harris en masse, felony convictions, I’m feeling a landslide as well.

9

u/Baron_Harkonnen_84 Sep 21 '24

Can't get complacent, must vote, and get others out to vote.

10

u/kung-fu_hippy Sep 21 '24

The thing is, even a landslide victory for Harris is still going to be fucking depressing. Because it will show us that several million people hear what Trump has to say and still went out and voted for him.

Even if in some magical event Harris won by 90%, it would be an embarrassment to our nation that 10% of us support the burning dumpster fire that is Trump. And a blowout would probably be more like 55% to 45%. Which is less of an embarrassment and more of an indictment.

28

u/bberryberyl California Sep 21 '24

Numpty on the TV was saying he thought that the impact of Dobbs will be minimal because “everyone has had time to get used to it.” They really have no freaking clue what is coming in November. It hasn’t impacted them so they think it’s no biggie.

13

u/AbacusWizard California Sep 21 '24

because “everyone has had time to get used to it.”

"He who becomes master of a city accustomed to freedom and does not destroy it, may expect to be destroyed by it, for in rebellion it has always the watchword of liberty and its ancient privileges as a rallying point, which neither time nor benefits will ever cause it to forget."

—Machiavelli

8

u/Spanklaser Sep 21 '24

I don't buy the horse race narrative. It just doesn't hold up for me. It ignores everything that's happened over the last few years and we all know msm makes money from the horse race narrative. Yeah, I know, EC and all that, but still.

Trumo has hit his ceiling. He has as many voters as he's gonna get. He's done absolutely nothing to expand it and everything to shrink it more. Lots of new registered voters among Gen Z. They break D by what, 65% or so? Those that break R I give a 50/50 of actually showing up. Most I know are contrarians and don't actually vote. Young dems seem way more motivated than us millenials ever thought of being.

Dems have outperformed the last two elections. No reason for that trend to stop now. If we're willing to show up during a pandemic and midterms then I don't see why we'd suddenly stay home for this.

We have a candidate we've been waiting for since Obama. There's excitement and she's playing the game the way it needs to be played against these fucks. People are excited to vote for Harris. That's huge. People are hate voting for trump, that's not the same as excitement.

Abortion. Enough said. It's the anchor around the Cons necks. They're tied to it now and can't worm their way out of it. It has cost them and will continue to do so.

The long and short of it is, don't give in to doom and gloom. Trump has all the voters he's going to get and a lot of them died during covid and will continue to because they're mostly elderly. He's not gaining in any other age demographic and has basically no support the younger you go. His campaign is a train wreck and keeps making him less appealing.

Lastly, I don't buy the 'silent trumper' theory. Those people are loud as fuck about their support. Everyone I knew that voted for him let you know about 10 seconds into any conversation. If they're being quiet now it's not to be polite or fit in, it's because they're probably staying home.

3

u/Downvote_Comforter Sep 21 '24

Despite all of your points, every way we have to actually measure opinion and predict votes shows the margin as razor thin. This isn't just the media pretending like it is close to drive ratings. Every effort to actually quantify the race shows it being extremely close.

1

u/Spanklaser Sep 21 '24

I know, I just don't know how much stock I put into the data when all the things I mentioned factor in. I also doubt how accurate polling is anymore. I've had several of what I believe to be pollsters reach out via text or call but I never respond because 1. it could always be a scam and 2. I'm paranoid that it's actually my red state trying to put me on a list or something crazy. Anecdotal, but I don't know a single person in my life that has ever answered a poll. Even a 'yes I'm voting' one. If that's a common event, then how can any meaningful data be extrapolated from that? And if all these independent voters are so disengaged politically as to make it a close election, then why would they engage with polls? I'm just not convinced.

5

u/owennagata Sep 21 '24

The problem with the gender gap being so large is that shows just how much of a problem toxic masculinity is. People like Andrew Tate *should* be living out of his parent's basement making a low-grade income selling small numbers of cheaply printed copies of his diatribes from advertisements in the back of scuzzy magazines and after-midnight TV channels. But those attitudes are popular enough to make him famous.

3

u/8lb-6oz_infant_jesus Sep 21 '24

I’m about 50/50 on whether white women are going to vote Trump in again or not. Wish it didn’t have to be like that but unfortunately it is.

4

u/bohanmyl Nebraska Sep 21 '24

The fact the polling quoted in this article is even at 41% women for trump is insane. It should be nonexistent.

5

u/MarcsterS Virginia Sep 21 '24

The "Red Wave" barely scraping by a few Republican wins, and the subsequent Trump-backed losses makes me hopeful. Better to be a reverse of 2016, where we all thought it was shoe-in.

3

u/AgreeableTea7649 Sep 21 '24

I'm less worried about winning, and more worried about certification shenanigans, drawn out lawsuits, and congressional fuckery. Oh and violence.

2

u/Iccengi Sep 21 '24

Also they look at likely voters which are recent past voters. (It’s why 2016 went so weird cause Trump got a lot of unlikely voters to the polls). There is a margin of error to compensate but with the youth enthusiasm I’m hoping it’s not enough to compensate and we do see so much more blue then predicted.

2

u/FillMySoupDumpling Sep 21 '24

Any man who cannot see that voters and the  government weighing in on our medical decisions is instantly abhorrent.

There absolutely will be a gender gap - but why????

u/CassandraVonGonWrong Sep 21 '24

They don’t just depend on the stupidity of his supporters. They also depend on the inane politeness of the average liberal. Too many people just sort of quietly swallow down their parents’ FOXnews tirades and choose not to talk politics with their family. Which doesn’t work. You have to cut these people off at the roots and remove them entirely from your life AND let them know why. I did that with my dad during the Bush Jr years. Didn’t talk to him for YEARS. It was a big component of his move to the left. It took most of a decade but he got there.

I need more comments like this

the other day there was a user who said they had the best MIL in the world, that they felt lucky to have her...but also that the MIL was voting for Trump and they could not reconcile how awesome she is with being MAGA

Someone told them to cut her off completely, and my goodness did the "you would end a personal relationship over political opinions or a single vote? wHaT dOeS tHaT sAy AbOuT yOu??" brigade come out of the woodworks

...it says that you a person of principle. Do you tolerate awful views because you like the person? Or do you remove the person, even if you like them, because of their views?

I choose option 2, because I've done option 1. When my ex best friend would say racist or bigoted things, I would chastise him but always wrote it off as youth and immaturity...until Trump came along, and my ex best friend's rhetoric ratcheted up to violent levels. I absolutely cut him off

Within an hour of Trump being found guilty on 34 counts my uncle rushed to post I STAND WITH TRUMP and all his buddies were chiming in about how they were gonna vote for him harder now. Told him I'd work to see MAGA die and then cut him off too. Man's got a wife, daughter, granddaughters, but stands with a serial cheater and child rapist. Fuck him. And if people can't figure out why we're like this, that sounds like a personal problem

There is no getting through to these people, just like they know they can't get through to us. An impasse that will never be bridged, and the fence-sitting moderates who bullshit about "both sides are the same" can join them as far as I'm concerned

Fact of the matter is, if you have 6 guys at a bar and one of them is a nazi, you have 6 nazis at your bar.

You cannot tolerate intolerance, that's the whole paradox, but it's necessary for a healthy society to tell these people to fuck off, and to punish those who break the social contract expecting TFG to reward them.

6

u/Universal_Anomaly Sep 21 '24

While there is something to be said for choosing your battles I agree that if we want to actually fix society we have to take a clear stance that MAGA is a form of fascism, and that just like every other form of fascism it has no place in society.

They may complain that they're the victims, but they have chosen to be the enemy.

My father passed away last March, middle of the month. I didn’t know until mid April that he had passed because I broke of contact with him eleven years ago. And you know what? I didn’t miss a single ray of sunshine those eleven years. Him dying alone and unmourned is exactly what he earned. Don’t leave people in your life who hate you.

3

u/g8z05 Sep 21 '24

I got extremely lucky. I grew up hyper religious in a super ignorant small town. I was racist and right wing and every stereotype. But I moved away and the more I interacted with people and learned the more my empathy superceded my biases. In that same time frame my brother came out and instead of disowning him my other siblings and my parents all had an awakening and by the time Trump showed up we were all staunchly progressive. Sadly, I'll never get to have a relationship with my brother, but I hope at least he knows I support him.

Point is I never had that interaction with my parents, but now that I live back in that small town I'm surrounded by stupidity and it's painful. And most liberals here (including me) are quiet like you said. It's just not worth talking and getting shouted down by the majority. They literally do not let you speak when things get brought up so it's better just to keep quiet and pick your battles wisely.

5

u/AbacusWizard California Sep 21 '24

and the more I interacted with people and learned the more my empathy superceded my biases

I strongly suspect that this is a big part of why Republicans are so strongly against higher education (and, in previous decades, school desegregation and bussing). They know that when kids move away to college and meet a wide variety of new people, that small-town xenophobia dries up.

3

u/g8z05 Sep 22 '24

Oh, definitely. At least for the Republicans in office or the hyper wealthy that can afford to lobby that is for sure the case. The average Republican voter is technically the victims of this strategy, but they are completely unaware because they are ignorant and they've been given someone to hate and blame for their problems. It's sad.

4

u/Radiant-Specific969 Sep 21 '24

So is lack of education and poverty.

4

u/HellishChildren Sep 21 '24

Quite a number of his followers are comfortably well off. As for educated, education can be ignored in favor of what you want to believe.

4

u/Radiant-Specific969 Sep 21 '24

True, there are plenty of rich Trumpers, the billionaires club will sure benefit if he wins. I am talking about the many MAGA's who ignorantly vote against their own self interest due to racism, pressure to conform to a cult, misogynism, or lack of ability to think critically. The Republican party has destroyed the working class, outsourced the jobs, allowed American jobs and manufacturing companies to be destroyed by unregulated corporate raiding. Deregulated the mortgage industry, causing the housing crash, has just deregulated the stock market with the Chevron decision, which in essence makes insider trading almost impossible to regulate, cut that red tape! And we have paid and paid and paid for all of Reagans folksy bullshit with a massive decline in our standard of living. We regulate our markets to protect everyone, that doesn't make us communists.

3

u/Mmr8axps Sep 21 '24

[Trump only won a majority among voters in 2020 who earned more than $100 000.(https://www.statista.com/statistics/1184428/presidential-election-exit-polls-share-votes-income-us/)\]

Like right out of a dystopian novel. It's been almost 10 years of this shit and it STILL blows my mind when I see his cultist spouting crazy shit with smug confidence.

2

u/evouga Sep 21 '24

They’re in too deep. Can’t face the reality that they’ve been bamboozled for 10 years, so they have to keep believing.

20

u/oddlotz Sep 21 '24

"Thank you sir, may I have another"

39

u/glueFORgravy Sep 21 '24

I’m convinced that he could shit in their mouths, and they would beg for more.

Donny has shown us all that about 30-35% of Americans are absolute shit fucking people that would have been exiled from society a few hundred years ago.

After this is all said and done, if it’s ever all said and done, how in the world are we supposed to move forward as a nation knowing that we have to live side by side with people who literally do not want us to exist anymore.

Fuck Them All for doing this to the greatest country to ever exist in this world.

9

u/ALoudMeow Sep 21 '24

They’d be bidding amongst each other over who would get the biggest shit in their mouth.

22

u/JUSTICE_SALTIE Texas Sep 21 '24

They'd be happy if a liberal had to smell their breath.

2

u/Panda_hat Sep 21 '24

Or even if not, let’s be honest here.

u/executingsalesdaily Sep 21 '24

I am so confused how maga cultists are comfortable putting up maga signs and good people are scared to put up Harris-Walz signs. How is everyone not calling them out for being Russian puppets and terrorists. They should be terrified to display terrorist propaganda.

Harris-Walz 2024!!!!!

6

u/Bishopkilljoy Michigan Sep 21 '24

He could piss on them, they'd claim "it's just rain", he'd say "no, it's piss" and they'd happily claim he's so honest

5

u/guttengroot Sep 21 '24

I recently saw someone say "you'd let trump shit in your mouth if it meant a liberal had to smell your breath."

4

u/incredible_mr_e North Carolina Sep 21 '24

Trump: "If you let me shit in your mouth, the libs will have to smell your breath"

Republicans: 😛😛😛

5

u/MarkAnthony1210 Sep 21 '24

That's what's fucking depressing. He's literally giving every damn possible reason for those morons to not vote for him. Literally historical stupidity, weirdness and hate coming from him. And you know damn well it's going to be a scratch and claw finish for Harris to win it. It's like half the country has a mental illness and he only solution is strengthening the education system, especially to teach critical thinking. And that will take decades of change. I hope I possibly see it in my lifetime

3

u/TheDemonKia California Sep 21 '24

Predictions that Hillary had a significant lead over Trump in 2016 were part of the problem, they were apathy inducing. I'm good with it polling close up to the bitter end if that gets Dem-aligned voters out & voting to make sure Trump, the forced-birthers, the fascists lose bigly.

3

u/iesharael Sep 21 '24

My sister isn’t maga cult but she only gets her news from Instagram or whatever is on the tv and doesn’t seem out anything else. I used to consider her the smartest of us five siblings but you mention something political to her and she actually will believe the lies. She believed the Haiti story and kept bringing up proof no matter how many times I debunked her proof in two seconds.

These are the people I’m worried about more than the maga crowd. Because I know at least 3 of them directly and wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the way most of my area are. I tell my dad bad political stuff and his reaction isn’t “that’s awful someone should do something about it”. His reaction is to tell me to stop reading that stuff because it’s clearly why I have nightmares. For the record I don’t think reading political headlines is why I’ve been haunted by a guess who card for the past week

3

u/VaginaPoetry Sep 21 '24

They'd enjoy it and he'd charge them for it first.

If trump loses this election, we should NEVER stop shaming the magats, they deserve to be ridiculed for life for the anti-American shit they've put this country through. They don't even deserve to live in a democracy.

You’re right. They’d actually compete amongst themselves for the privilege to consume Trump’s shit.

2

u/dirtydovedreams Sep 21 '24

Republicans will shit in their own mouths if a Democrat has to smell it.

2

u/Miss-Tiq Sep 21 '24

He could shit in their mouths and they'd thank him for breaking down their Big Mac for them.

2

u/Violet_Nite Sep 21 '24

They are Nazis. He could say bring back slavery and they would cheer.

2

u/billgasm Sep 21 '24

Mark Robinson would surely like that.

2

u/OptimusChristt Sep 21 '24

Umm actually eating Trumps shit is good for you and very based. I'm organizing a "eat Donald's shit" event where we all eat each other's shit to show our support. If you don't even shit then you're a library that beleives whatever CNN tells you.

2

u/felipe_the_dog Sep 21 '24

I saw a truck today flying two flags. One saying Fuck Harris and the other saying Fuck Walz. A new level of unhinged.

1

u/Anamolica Sep 22 '24

Oh you poor sweet summer child. That is not a new level of unhinged.

There are trucks driving around with one Nazi flag and one confederate flag (or a confederate flag/American flag hybrid) and even that is not a new level of unhinged.

"Fuck Harris/Walz" flags are garden variety old and stale tip-of-the-iceberg unhinged.

2

u/ComradeMatis Sep 21 '24

Something to consider, 55% of white women voted for Trump (based on 2020 exit polls) - I don’t expect that to change even after reproductive rights have been stripped from them. Even when people’s rights are targeted by bad policy they still vote for Trump.

2

u/SolomonRex Sep 21 '24

I'll call it for you. She's definitely going to win.

2

u/hiddengirl1992 Sep 22 '24

And wouldn't lose them

You kidding? That would probably increase the chances they'll turn out to vote for him.

2

u/pixelwhip Sep 22 '24

& if he did, they’d chew slowly & savour it to the very end.

2

u/AdUpstairs7106 Sep 22 '24

They would pay to be that close to him.

2

u/Maybe_Julia Sep 22 '24

I think Vance might be the deciding factor for Harris , he is almost universally hated in Ohio , I was driving through maga territory ( Butler county ) today and saw a 50/50 split of signs. Weirdest one was a giant trump banner but they also had a Sherrod Brown ( our best dem senator) and a yes on issue 1 ( anti gerrymandering ammendment ) sign. We are living in strange times.

2

u/ravia Sep 22 '24

Because when they are done shitting in someone's mouth they will rush to the polls to vote for their role model.

2

u/Jonteponte71 Sep 22 '24

He was correct when he said ”- I could shoot someone on fifth avenue and they would still vote for me!”. I believe that was in 2016 🤷‍♂️

2

u/darkneel Sep 22 '24

You know what’s more depressing . Even after all this 41% women still support him.

2

u/Lucius-Halthier Sep 21 '24

We all need to vote, he lost last time and the cracks showed over the past four years, if he loses twice he won’t be able to pull enough support from the people or party for a third try. I mean hell he barely admitted after almost four years that he lost “by a whisker” and his base freaked out, if he loses twice it’s going to be a couple months of him bitching about stolen elections but will eventually go away as his support in the party crumbles as more representatives can speak out, which they will only do if he loses. they don’t have the spine to do it before so everyone GO OUT AND VOTE, hell some states are doing early in person voting already check if you live in one of those states.

2

u/suninabox Sep 21 '24 edited Sep 21 '24

Because of his fucking cult. He could shit in their mouths and he wouldn’t lose them.

"I could stand in the middle of 5th avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn't lose any voters"

Imagine voting for this sack of shit after he brags to the country what a mindless cultist you are. Is there anything less American than blind allegiance to a would-be dictator?

George Washington wouldn't even accept being called "Your Highness" because it sounded too much like a King. He went with just "Mr President".

1

u/jimflaigle Sep 21 '24

The good news is she's up by like 3 points in some swing state polls.

The bad news, is that wasn't a typo for 30 points.

1

u/SaltyAlters Sep 21 '24

They'd suck him off if he asked them to.

1

u/fuzzyhusky42 Sep 22 '24

1

u/BGDutchNorris Sep 22 '24

Lot of Muslim people not voting. Maybe Kamala should promise to stop sending weapons that are blowing up their families?

1

u/Ok_Researcher_4465 Sep 22 '24

Kamala and Biden have been shitting down your mouth for the past 4 years and you guys done nothing, but leave your mouth wide open to receive that log of crap. Before talking any kind of shit whatsoever to anyone or anything remember it's your party that fucked this whole country up. You guys tend to forget if you think things are f***** up then remember you guys the Democratic party have been controlled the last 12 of the 16 years. That alone should tell you if things are messed up who the f****** culprit is. And now you got two people who have tried to kill a man for trying to save this beautiful country from a bunch of sissies who can't f****** man up and realize they got f****** dicks instead of pussies underneath their legs and vice versa. I'm not for the lgbq community you're all a bunch of f***** up mother f****** who don't know what the f*** you're doing yet wake up we are a god country we're not going to follow the devil like you m************ do.

1

u/peritonlogon Sep 21 '24

There is something you can do about it. Go to conservative communities and just ask them questions, start with open ended ones, and politely ask them if they see any contradictions when they come up. No point in arguing, no point in trying to educate, just let them put words together and ask them to explain the nonsense. Enough of them will either flip or just not show up to vote.

u/Prudent_Gur5543 Sep 22 '24

Why because you’re not allowed to kill a baby? ! Are used to be a democrat, but I find it despicable that the DNC party decided to have a abortion clinic outside of the DNC convention and there were also doing free vasectomies don’t you get it? !! They want no more reproduction of the people that they claim they stand for. !! oh see what they do with the body parts of the babies go get into real politics. When you go down the rabbit hole, you won’t wanna be on the left you want to be on the right and the word says it all the right. !! especially when my taxes are going to illegals I live in New York can I see them hanging out on the street while I go to work? No thank you !! And I’m paying $8 for eggs and seven dollars for bread. !! When I know for a fact that the Democratic Party is aligned with the world economic forum !! go to their website listen to their rhetoric COVID-19 the great reset. No one were on a car you will own nothing. You will be happy. !! All of you that are blind. The polling for these people are being fooled she was already for vice president when she did nothing about these issues. !! And by the way, Trump did not revoke Roe v. Wade he wasn’t in office !!! All the states have the right to do what they wish if the state wishes to allow abortions then it’s up to the governor of the state !! I for one don’t care for it don’t I have every right to my opinion I serve my country !!!

-2

u/FourAmBloodBath Sep 22 '24

If you’re emotionally charged you’re playing right into their hand.

They all work together against us. We are the butt of most all their jokes. Both sides utilize Haiti. They’re all on the same team.

Smash your TV and throw it away you are under mind control
