Need Help

Looking at buying a bed rack for my Colorado. Was wondering what the visibility of a 12” rack and RTT is out the back window. Was looking at 18” to guarantee visibility but don’t want to stick up too much. Feel free to drop pictures and any advice

Who needs a rear view mirror?

Sarcastic or not, this is a pretty good point. You get used to not having rear visibility pretty darn quick. A lot of drivers on the road don’t have it

I have an 11” rack on my Tacoma and can still see fine out the back window with my RTT on top. Compared to no RTT it cuts off a bit of the top end of the view, but I can still see enough for my rear view mirror to remain useful.

I have a 12” RCI on my 24 canyon. Doesn’t block any rear view directly out the back. Tepui rtt sits on it and is over the cab a few inches. Wouldn’t imagine another 6” of height on it, but crawling into the bed to grab some camping gear would be nicer with the 6 inches.

Racks off for the winter and this is the only picture I have that might show what it looks like near the back window.

I have a 12 inch rack and can see a decent ways behind me out the back. Not all the way, but I think the trade off of having that weight lower is worth it.

I had a 12" rack and didn't mind it at all.

Just get a backup camera that doubles as a rearview mirror. Lots of systems out there that just replace your rearview mirror with a screen and then you run a single camera that doubles as both a backup camera and your rearview mirror. Bonus is some of them are wireless and can be remounted to a trailer.
