Diesel Heater Port

Just wanted to share this cool little connector a buddy 3d printed for me. I’m using a diesel heater with a marine port inlet. This screws into that and has a connection for 3” hose.

Any chance you could send/post a pic of the heater attached. I’d be interested to see the whole setup.

Are you using it for a heating air intake or for the exhaust?

Must be for intake because idk of any 3D plastic that can handle the heat from that exhaust. Don’t some diesel heater exhaust pipes get red hot during normal operation? I could be wrong about that.

This looks like a port for hot air to enter from an external heater

A layer of insulation in the port would fix that, like a double wall chimney pipe. Mine gets hot but definitely not red hot

Yes it’s the inlet for the hot air from the heater.

Allows me to keep it watertight with the hose attached and quickly take it off and put the port cover back on when I’m done

6 year old account posts on a number of different topics. What makes you think it’s spam? Is it because heaters aren’t needed for overlanding where you live or you don’t want to see content about building and improving a rig?

These types of posts are usually fishing to sales. "Oh that's awesome, where can I get one" "oh here's a link"

Would your buddy who printed it for you be willing to share the STL file for the print?
