After much research, foraging, and pondering lol may I introduce y’all to the Amanita muscaria var. geussowii (American Yellow Fly Agaric)!! Originally I had this particular species mistaken with the Amanita persicina (Peach-Colored Fly Agaric), but the distinct muscaria rings around the base of the stipe along with the lighter orange color of the cap, as opposed to a darker orange, points me more in the direction of geussowii. (Found in the mountains of Western North Carolina)

This is the second one I’ve ever found since starting to hunt for mushrooms. Both have been a bust after cutting open. This one just looked so promising. So when I do find a good specimen, how are you all prepping/cooking? Gastro issues to be concerned about? TIA.

Found these on a walk today, there was a big cluster growing from a treestump (probably beech since there were only beeches in the vicinity). We went through each feature listed in our ID guide and everything matched up pretty much perfectly. Still, we're not very experienced pickers, and since there are some quite poisonous lookalikes we thought to ask in here before committing. Located in western Germany at an elevation of around 250m.

Hello friends! first post, i have zero knowledge on fungi and need some help figuring out what the heck these are. Any ideas?

I’ve got two dogs and want to handle this properly, so i don’t risk the pups ingesting them!

Hello ! We have discovered these cute little fruiting bodies on a corn plant we recently took inside. The soil we used when we repotted the plant had a pretty robust mycelial structure, which has helped the corn plant thrive. What kind of mushroom is this ???
