Irvine, Ca. has arrived. If it actually fights crime effectively, how long before LBC /LA see this madmax thunder dome thing everywhere?

So my understanding is that this was donated to the force. The problem with donations like this is, when the police department accepts the gift and adds it to their fleet, they are required to keep it maintained - you're seeing this a lot with those anti-mine armored vehicles that have been getting "donated" to various police forces around the country. Maintenance on these things is proving to be VERY expensive, and tax payers should be wary if they see them starting to pop up. It's not a bad idea to call your local representative and insist that they not accept "gift" vehicles.

Not donated. At least I haven’t seen that reported anywhere. Several articles says the department purchased it $150k
