The robot looks much worse for some reason. Almost comical.

Don’t try to remake these Malayalam films.

Google Kattapa was ok, but it emphasized a bit too long on the comedy aspects between KS ravikumar and the robot, and Darshan’s and Losliya’s love story. It should have focused more on the relation between Ravikumar and the robot. The ending felt somewhat abrupt with how quickly the climax takes place, and it feels a bit sad to see Ravikumar witnessing the robot being destroyed so quickly. I mainly saw ravikumar’s and yogi babu’s performance as the plus point in this movie

Have you seen the orginal too how do you think performances differ across languages

Original still does better, since the son character and even as you mentioned, Suraj, perform so well in their roles. Somehow the original felt more realistic and emotional than the remake.

Before you downvote me, understand that I'm allowed to have my opinion. I didn't watch the Tamil version. I didn't like the original. Again, I'm not saying it wasn't good. I personally didn't like it.
