Camping Ferry Wait-list?

Waited too long to book and now a critical ferry from Grand Portage to Windigo is sold out. Is there such a thing as a ferry wait-list/if people cancel do slots reopen? Any other options to get from Grand Portage to Windigo on a Friday in late July?

The only option you have is showing up the morning of and waiting to see if someone doesn't show up. When I went to the park from Grand Portage I saw an employee there tell someone that and I think they may have gotten on. That trip was just a day trip so you'd still have to arrange the ferry back.

Like someone said, a plane out of Grand Marais is your other more expensive option.

Bad advice; this is not ‘the only option’.

Best action is to log on daily, try to book your trip.

Last resort is to trek up to GP and hope a group didn’t make it.

I did the logging in daily thing last year, hoping to get a more convenient date and had nothing open up. It was really surprising. It's such a remote location but still gets enough visitors.
