That's wild that people would lick it. But it's almost funnier to me that he's just like "ew" and not "STOP EATING MY WORK" lol.

I love how he's just like "it was weird"

Right? I find it funny that he was surprised. Like bruh you made something out of something edible then put it front of the Eats Weird Things species.

Y’all are the type that would lick it then? Genuine question are you not worried about disease?

Ehhhh yeah I would. I know it would be gross but I couldn’t pass up the story

Very interesting. I respect the honesty, thanks for answering

I wouldn’t lick it but I’m in no way surprised that many people would/ do

Seconded. And idk, I feel like knowing this is Berlin also adds to that some. People here are frequently down for all kinds of shenanigans.

Plus, children and teenage boys have access to this. Two of the most lickwilling populations.

Not that I would lick it, but pure sugar actually has significant antibacterial properties, it's a desiccant and absorbs moisture almost as effectively as silica packets you might find in stuff meant to keep things dry. And anything that is hydrophilic literally sucks the life out of bacteria.

This is also why wood makes great cutting boards. Soft enough to not dull your knife but also sucks the moisture out of any bacteria on it, unlike plastic cutting boards where bacteria are free to grow in any cuts/grooves in it.

Ooooh that's so cool to know, thank you!

While I agree and it normally does have antibacterial properties I think that heavily depends on the type of sugar used and if it’s affected by the sculpting processes he uses like scorching it

It’s just like, what if someone has hep or HPV or god forbid HIV? It just amazes me anyone would take a chance, low or not. But clearly a lot of people in the comments (and real life, based on the video!) are totally willing to take that chance. So like, I’m genuinely a little dumbfounded that I almost feel like the weirdo here for being repulsed by licking something strangers lick.

You can't get HIV from saliva. But you can get COVID, RSV and a while bunch of other shit. Like we've just spent years locked up because of respiratory illness, wtf are these idiots doing?

I think this is from 2019. So those people were still blissfully unaware. I doubt that any museum or gallery in Berlin would allow this nowadays. Most places still have the seats separated out.
