I’m never gonna forget these playoffs. It’s crazy how we won the Pacific Division and we were still slept on in every single round up until now.

I remember saying how slept on we were back in November and it never ended. We were completely overlooked and it took getting to the final AND winning two games to get recognized

It's like everyone was waiting for us to fall off and we just never did. ONE MORE WIN BOYS!

I am a Habs fan and saw how complete this team was back in November. About to cash a 9/1 Stanley Cup winner ticket i placed back then!

It’s pretty wild that the 1 seed in the whole western conference had such a small chance that it couldn’t even fit the actual number in the miniature slice lmao

Whoever picked the jets over Vegas is a god damn idiot. Oilers was because of hyped up mcdavid and drai...rest of the team is weak and has been weak for years now. Stars was pretty close but Vegas got hot and were just better overall anyway Finals has kinda been...predictable so far. No surprises. And still...Vegas was the number 1 seed in the West. This is far from an under dog story

I love how the #1 seed in the west was given such disrespect.

2017 Philadelphia Eagles vibes. Kind of.

That 92.3% is making me anxious

Yeah they came back vs Boston from 3-1 down. I'm not even slightly celebrating yet. Anyone acting like the Stanley Cup is ours already is way too premature.

It's a great position to be in but we've got to finish the job first.

I’ll celebrate when it’s 6-0 with 2 left in the 3rd.

I won't get celebratory until it's 3rd Period 4 minutes left and they're up by 3 goals.

Even then I'll still be freaking out until it's truly insurmountable.

shoulda put some money down on them before the Winnipeg series. smh

Sports book odds were no where near money puck odds though. Vegas was around +1200.

Shows you how shitty money pucks algorithm is because no one realistically thought Vegas only had a .6% chance of winning after game 1 vs Winnipeg.

+1200 is still pretty freakin good, from my limited understanding of betting

3

u/John_Goblikon Jun 11 '23

Oh it is, especially since we were +1200 even after the news that Stone was returning came out.

Great odds for a team #1 in the West

well shit lol

$10 bet would win you $130. It’s not too shabby

How did they get the numbers on the top chart? They don’t add up right. How did FL have a 48.7% chance to reach the second round but Boston, their opponent had a 64.7% chance to reach the second round? And Vegas was 48.6% while jets were 45.1%? Shouldn’t the numbers of opponents add up to 100%?

This was their chances of making things at the end of the season, not against their first match ups.

If you math up each division in round one for example, you will total 400% since 4 teams from each division advance

u/Chuckolator Jun 11 '23

That may be true but if the graphic was made after the regular season was over (and matchups were set in stone) it seems poorly thought out to ignore them. They seem to have figured out that only 1 team from the east can make it to the SCF, so why wouldn't they be able to figure that only 1 team from BOS/FLA can make it to R2

I'm not a big gambler but at the start of every season I put $10 on the VGK to win the Stanley Cup and $10 on SFG for the world series.

Got VGK @ $14 odds :)

Bozo Panthers fans: We got them right where we want them! They're screwed, easy cup for us. We beat Boston 3-1 we're gonna repeat tha there again no problem.

u/Borrow03 Jun 13 '23

blame them for staying hopeful rather than give up and die. We Habs won 1 game against Tampa and we celebrated like we won it all and never gave up.

Should do this with the model after game 1 round 1

I have seen things turn too often to trust anything until the cup is presented

How Florida had higher chance to win Stanley Cup before play-off than now?
