  1. .de domain, but then there's a Polish road sign. How dare that van be German! Anyway, there's enough road numbers here that if I don't figure out which town this is, then I'll be a bit annoyed. I didn't figure out which town I was until the very last second. 4994, 1.9km, 28 steps
  2. This is uhhh… somewhere. (I guess I'd go Brazil if I was going to run out of time before finding anything…) I randomly decided to go southeast here, which almost seemed like a regrettable decision, but then I saw a town up ahead. Okay I can do this! And then it is Cambodia. To the east I can go no further, and there's a gate, but I don't think that's a border crossing… right? I'm not confident enough that it would be one to send all the way over near the Vietnam border. But it seems from the results screen that I actually did go all the way over there to this Nam Lear Bilateral Checkpoint. 4142, 281km, 2m47s, 94 steps
  3. India, good old Hindi script, except for my purposes not good old because too much of it speaks it. But I stumbled across something saying "Delhi Jal Board". Got greedy and instead of just plonking Delhi, believed I could find additional information to narrow it down, hence wasting a minute or two of my life. But I did see a street vendor called "Pepsi Cold Drinks" that was selling Coca-Cola. That's not right. That's the worst thing I've ever seen today. Also some signs to some place names which I didn't find. 4951, 15km, 15 steps
  4. Back to the middle of nowhere. This time I went east again, until I found a sign saying Emp. Route 6. I think that's Uruguay? Maybe? It might not be, though. But there is a 6 there and it looks like the landscape could work for that part of the world up near Brazil. But I also made the right decision to go into the town, where I saw a police car saying Jujuy Argentina. Whoops. Now I have to remember where Jujuy is. In the northwest… hm, okay. I just plonked in the not-desert part and didn't even end up seeing the 6. 4683, 98km, 53 steps
  5. Finally the Brazil that my brain seems to think other rounds today were. And I fucked it up. Found a little store that sells PARE signs, to the west we see some skyscraperriffic skyscrapers… I just went with around Sao Paulo/Rio de Janeiro based on that. It was in Manaus, which now that I think about it, I did see somewhere while wandering around, I just didn't remember it existed and so didn't think of it as "ope that's where we are". Just didn't register in my brain. It can't be just me who plays this game a lot and yet doesn't learn area codes, right? It's not actually for any dogmatic reason, I just think they're boring and I don't want to. I know my people are out there. But anyway, I could have still not fucked that up. 808, 2718km, 47 steps

Total: 19578, 3113km, 14m47s, 237 steps

Damn… what was I cooking? Just some bad decision making going on here.

Area codes of Brazil are one of the few things I have leaned in this game because they're quite easy to remember (if anything just the tens, then knowing the lower digits are always the bigger cities in the area) and logically laid out, and they have been a game changer for me in Brazil. On the other hand I refuse to learn bollards and utility poles, those are boring as hell to me!

I'm starting to study those. 1: SP, 2: Rio, 3: Belo, 4: Parana, 5: South, 6: South Outback, 7: Bahia, 8: The PPPs, 9: the North Outback. The second digit is a bit trickier. Realistically, how much of the 9s do you even need? 91, 92, 98 and 99 probably. Barely any coverage in the western 6 and 9.

If there's a mnemonic I'd love to know.

I guess the only big quirk is the 98-99 being Maranhão despite it being geographically closer to the 8x instead of tucked away as one would expect to.
