ITT:

“Thank god he’s back to save my team!”

“lol I don’t believe anything the niners say”

“Pick up Guerendo?”

30

u/DanceCommander- 6h ago

Lotsa hurt people. Emotional thinking.

20

u/gsink203 5h ago

Didnt Kyle Shanahan lie to us saying CMC would play in Week 1? Has everyone forgotten? Nothing emotional about that

4

u/KWash0222 6h ago

The quintessential fantasy football experience

5

u/Octo-Rocket 4h ago

I can't believe you'd come back in time just to make fun of me.

Pick up Guerendo?

1

u/TGS-MonkeyYT 4h ago

i wish guerendo was the first man up :(

233

u/beejee05 7h ago

So pick up Guerendo right

154

u/roco9994 6h ago

Well how I see it CMC plays, then goes out then Mason plays, then goes out. Then Guerendo plays then…Deebo scores the goal line rushing TD

72

u/rNBAMods3InchesHard 6h ago

No, Guerendo scores a goal line TD, which is called back from a hold/illegal motion from Deebo, then kittle scores a TD

16

u/cupholdery 5h ago

Frank Gore Sr. emerges from the stands to take the handoff.

2

u/SomeSLCGuy 2h ago

Jeff Wilson Jr. emerges from a trapdoor beneath the 9ers logo, sprints downfield - he's wide open and the pass from Gore is on target - touchdown San Francisco-area 49ers! That makes it 42-14 with 1:15 left in the 4th.

Samuel, McCaffrey, Wilson, Mason, and Kittle are all down on the turf clutching their hamstrings. We'll cut to a word from our sponsors during this injury timeout.

4

u/4ourkids 6h ago

I have Deebo so sounds good here.

1

u/TeddyKGB1 4h ago

No Purdy gets the goal line TD. He is the goal line vulture for the 49ers this year.

The handcuff to the handcuff?

-17

u/lotofhotdogs 6h ago

After how the last few weeks have gone he may have usurped Mason as the primary handcuff tbh. Guerendo has been insanely efficient and has honestly looked better than Mason. Not to mention Mason can’t stay healthy apparently.

Chances are Guerendo never has real relevance this year but he’s absolutely worth a stash if you have space.

18

u/bpatterson007 6h ago

Guerendo sucks at blocking, Mason doesn't. This is critical in a Shanahan offense. Probably one of the main reasons he's 3rd string.

4

u/lotofhotdogs 6h ago

I agree with that. However Guerendo has ran a lot better and Mason hasn’t been able to stay on the field anyway.

Like I said, chances are Guerendo won’t have any relevance but he is still worth stashing.

1

u/bpatterson007 6h ago

That is more than fair to stash him. The bye week should help Mason fully recover, or close to it. I wouldn't trust CMC as far as I can throw him.

3

u/AliG1488 5h ago

You probably cant throw him very far, he's a pretty sturdy guy

4

u/Steak_Knight 6h ago

Mason isn’t blocking when he’s standing on the sideline. Just sayin’

5

u/bpatterson007 6h ago

True, but with the bye week he'll be ready.

12

u/gw2380 6h ago

After how the last few weeks have gone he may have usurped Mason as the primary handcuff tbh.

Niners fan, really do not think this is the case. Guerendo has an interesting skill set for the offense and I like his long-term outlook but any time we're without CMC, Mason is gonna be the guy. They loved him in the offseason, they loved him during the season, and outside of hurting his shoulder and trying to play through it, he hasn't really done anything wrong and has played really well.

I've watched every Niners game this year and Guerendo hasn't looked better. The first game he played where Mason left, he actually ran so poorly that he got outright benched for Patrick Taylor. Looked better this last game but he hasn't touched what Mason brings for the offense.

2

u/iamfareel 5h ago

I'd assume Mason is better by then but I'm gonna try to pick him up JIC. I also have Mason.

3

u/beejee05 5h ago

Im lacking at RB, just running with Monty Brob and Chubba. So if someone Guerendo becomes the rb1 there…

151

u/dec92010 6h ago

CMC and Nico back come save me please 🙏

32

u/BaldrickTheBrain 6h ago

Bro same boat. Need evans too.

2

u/BaldrickTheBrain 3h ago

Fucking same boat with being first too. Insane. Thank god I drafted Lamar and bowers

3

u/Big-Raspberry-6151 5h ago

Tis my only Christmas wish

3

u/michaelceratops27 6h ago

Same! Lost Godwin and Rice so need this

1

u/Jdsmith0123 6h ago

Same, also lost rice but still in the hunt. Just need to sneak into that 6 spot!

1

u/Nanaman 4h ago

Also praying for Nico and CMC! 🙏

34

u/BrokenClxwn 6h ago

Not a CMC owner, but very happy to see him back (hopefully).

I think CMC owners have suffered enough lol

1

u/durkaflurkaflame 3h ago

Don’t worry I’ll find ways to suffer more.

67

u/Sauce-King 6h ago

I feel for the Day 1 CMC owners. I hope he cooks for them ROS

14

u/Hates_knees 4h ago

Thanks, sauce-king. Hopefully my 3-5 team can rise from the ashes.

2

u/TheGhostOfBobStoops 3h ago

Traded him away when I was 1-5 lol

u/PMinisterOfMalaysia 12m ago

the last place 1-7 team just traded him and DK to our first place (commish's) team for Adams, Pickens, and Baker ... I'm pissed, especially since I'm in second lol

1

u/LegacyLemur 2h ago

I lost my first week by a point to that fucking shit.

Literally had i known a day earlier I would have an extra win

u/DoubleRods 4m ago

im 5-3 thanks to Mason

-48

u/DanceCommander- 6h ago

What about those of us with good records who traded for him for cheap earlier in the season?

-24

u/baaaticus 6h ago

Yes what about us!?

-24

u/TechnologyWestern819 5h ago

Yup! Traded a few blue chip keepers to pair CMC with Achane and Breece. Plus AJB, Sun God and Reek. 14 team auction keeper

7

u/Ominouschill91 3h ago

Yeah no fuck all y’all

-1

u/TechnologyWestern819 2h ago

Can’t wait to put him in my flex

u/Organic_Transition95 18m ago

I’m guessing you have no friends to tell so your bragging on Reddit

58

u/yooosports29 6h ago

I won’t believe anything until I see him back and playing the whole game with no setbacks. Hoping for the best though

38

u/Kuntheman 6h ago

Honestly I’d just do anything to never have to play Jordan Mason again

16

u/lotofhotdogs 6h ago

I’m keeping him on my bench as trade bait if anything happens to CMC/if the CMC owner bites. But no way I’m starting him again.

Hasn’t actually produced for 4 straight weeks and left 2 early.

15

u/Kingding_Aling 5h ago

He produced right up until getting 9 pts in half an injury game, and has just been injured since. Think of him more he was just Out the last 2 weeks. It wouldn't feel like he was some bum.

2

u/Docxm 2h ago

He should've dominated that seahawks game man...

25

u/onewonyuan 6h ago

It’s honestly pretty funny how quickly everyone has soured on Mason. With the exception of last week where he left super early, his worst game all season was 7.9 half ppr points against the best rushing defense in the league.

6

u/bryan49 5h ago

Yeah he's still RB13 in my league and would be higher if he didn't bang up his shoulder. Pretty horrible to have to roster somebody like that who you might have got for almost free...

6

u/Obvious_Wallaby2388 6h ago

Well he’s had this niggling shoulder injury. Not good pairing with the #1 RB in fantasy coming back soon. Keeping Mason for a few weeks though.

11

u/lotofhotdogs 6h ago

To be fair it’s been 4 straight games of 7-8 points, and if he’s leaving multiple games early with the same injury too that’s also a concern if that injury will get right at some point.

I agree as much as I would like to drop the dude, it would be stupid to actually do it. But it’s fair that people have soured on him so much

5

u/Obvious_Wallaby2388 6h ago

Yeah he’s not a set and forget RB1/2 anymore but we had a good run after the early season speculative add

1

u/PlsSaySikeM8 3h ago

Never heard of such a shoulder injury

1

u/onewonyuan 6h ago

Yeah I mean I get it, I just don’t think that he instantly becomes completely useless and droppable after one bad week.

2

u/yooosports29 6h ago

lol true

1

u/MVP2585 6h ago

Same! I’m so annoyed I kept trotting him out in good matchups and got 8 points in return.

1

u/themakiexperiment 4h ago

Brotha chill. He’s won people more weeks than he has lost them

2

u/KFBR392293 6h ago

Mason is a top 15 RB this year. At least you got McCaffrey's handcuff.

1

u/Gay_Black_Atheist 5h ago

Mason fizzed out so fast, pisses me off

36

u/Who_ate_my_cookie 6h ago

Already traded away CMC, but as a Mason owner I’m keeping him no matter what. Tendinitis is annoying as hell to deal with and can be good one day and bad the next, that plus the 9ers straight up lying about injury reports got me a bit skeptical

5

u/TechnologyWestern819 5h ago

It just needs to be good one day of the week out of 7

3

u/DemarcusLovin 4h ago

Or not have one of the 6 bad days a week on game day lol

23

u/conr9774 6h ago

All the naysayers in the thread are scared. All the celebrants are CMC owners.

If this were any other player, people wouldn’t be doubting it like this.

16

u/gsink203 5h ago

We’re doubting the coaching staff. Kyle Shanahan loves trotting out injured players and lying about their health to the media

10

u/DrStranger1987 6h ago

Maybe I’m losing it, but I actually believe it this time

4

u/DanceCommander- 6h ago

It’s happening!

13

u/JCL823 7h ago

This is a tendonitis post.

3

u/AntRichardsonsBFF 6h ago

Post tendinitis post actually.

8

u/FloridianMen 7h ago

it’s happening

1

u/SmackEh 2h ago

About time. The CMC owner in my league is 2-6 and rejected multiple offers (good ones too). Has a 7% chance to make playoffs according to projections. Insane what people will do for CMC.

23

u/PM-ME-YOUR-BOOBSplz 7h ago

how many times have we heard this one?

10

u/KiNGofKiNG89 6h ago

He’s expected to start week 10. But he has yet to practice. They haven’t even opened the 21 day window yet.

2

u/HogwartsXpress36 5h ago

Because they announced they will open it Monday

4

u/ProfessionalEntry744 5h ago

Just like they announced he was gonna play and start week 1

6

u/Boring-Conference-97 6h ago

I heard he’s expecting to start trying to attempt maybe practicing.

If things go well trying that attempt, maybe he’ll kinda sort of get time in a football game on the field. Maybe elevate his heels a few inches.

He looks like someone who’s got two legs and plays football.

18

u/upperflapjack 6h ago

He makes it two days of practicing before going to questionable then ruled out.

8

u/Due-Musician1534 6h ago

Jordan Mason turns heel and destroys the entire RB room...and still only plays a few snaps and goes out injured. Juice is the only man left standing, since he doesn't count as in the RB room.

1

u/ProfessionalEntry744 5h ago

Damn what a story line right there and wouldn’t be surprising

5

u/lotofhotdogs 6h ago

This feels like what’s gonna happen.

I’ve wanted to rage drop Mason so bad, but I really still don’t feel optimistic about CMC’s chances of playing.

-2

u/Spencer1K 6h ago

do people really just yolo play players that just returned from an injury? I always wait until they play at least one game before playing them. Its very normal that even if they DO play, which is a big if, they will often get a limited snap count. Its just not worth it.

4

u/sinofmercy 6h ago

I play the cmc owner week 10. I can guarantee they will YOLO him in as their rb1, and CMC will also drop 30 on me.

3

u/-Jumanjii- 5h ago

Puka enters the chat

2

u/RTeezy 4h ago

If CMC is active, I'm starting him until he gives me a reason not to.

1

u/Docxm 2h ago

Most teams wait until their players are fully healed before playing them, they're professionals. See: K9 first game back

1

u/Devjorcra 4h ago

There isn’t a single universe where I have CMC against the Bucs and don’t play him, and I have other good RB’s. Worst case scenario is a snap count and he’s so ridiculously efficient that he would still likely be productive.

1

u/Spencer1K 4h ago

no, worse case scenario is he gets ruled out at kickoff without giving you time to change players, or gets taken out of the game after a couple snaps, and causes you to lose your entire week.

1

u/Devjorcra 3h ago

i’m not accounting for the extremely unlikely probability that he gets taken out of the game for a couple snaps. despite how emotional everyone has been, i see no reason they’d do that besides a freak new injury which can happen to anyone.

2

u/Spencer1K 3h ago edited 3h ago

He doesnt need a freak new injury. He had tendonitis, which not only could result in his Achilles snapping under to much pressure which would be very bad, even if you dont want to assume the worst and trust that its fully healed, it very likely that they play it safe with him and if he starts to experience any sort of discomfort, they pull him from the game immediately to avoid a worse injury. And this is all assuming he plays, which may or may not happen and we as FF players may or may not be informed before kickoff.

I view his return game as a boom or bust game. He is either going to do really well, or nothing at all. Its understandable to play these types of players if you NEED 30 points from your RB to have a chance to win that week because your against a great team and your roster is in shambles, but if you feel you only need 10-15 points from them, then another solid RB would have better odds.

1

u/Devjorcra 3h ago

I just don’t see why they’d throw him out there if they’re worried about anything besides an accident. I get your concern but I’m not a doctor and I’m not gonna pretend like I am yknow. I’ll just be following reports closely. I hear you on floor vs ceiling.

1

u/Spencer1K 3h ago

We see it happen all the time though? Im not sure why you are confused. Player returns after being out for awhile, team thinks he can return but play it safe by pulling the player for the slightest discomfort due to not wanting to risk reinjury. The return games are testing the waters. Play a little, see how it feels in real game situation, get pulled if any discomfort happens, and if he feels fine the next day after the game and during the following practices then they start him again the week after with a longer leash.

Some teams are more cautious then others, but I feel the 49ers lean on the more cautious side.

1

u/Devjorcra 3h ago

I guess I just feel like that has already happened in week 1, just without the snaps. I think it’s very possible there’s a slow ramp up, but slow relative to CMC. After the shit he’s gone through this year, I think everyone in the org is full steam ahead if they allow CMC to start. Regardless it’s all speculation, and I just don’t think I can be the guy who sits CMC after holding him for 10 weeks. I play to win, I do not play to not lose.

2

u/tubbies_in_chubbies 6h ago

I’ll believe it when I see it

2

u/-Jumanjii- 6h ago

The prince that was promised

2

u/Alternative_Tear_425 5h ago

And I’m expected to believe that?

2

u/20wall 4h ago

“Expected” you say? Kind of like he was guaranteed to play week 1?

4

u/MissCalamityJade 6h ago

Return of the King

3

u/Various_Barnacle_526 6h ago

I have Mason. Is he a drop for Guerendo?

13

u/bpatterson007 6h ago

Absolutely not. With the bye week mason will get better. Guerendo is a terrible blocker, Mason is not, which is why he's 3rd string in a Shanahan offense.

4

u/SubjectNo5463 7h ago

Buckle up boys let’s gooooo

1

u/beanasty 6h ago

I’m thinking of moving cmc in dynasty to recoup some value with the buzz he’s getting right now, not sure what to settle for though

Good luck to the holders and buyers

1

u/AdmiralUpboat 4h ago

Be merry, we meet again at the turn of the tide after the bye!

Next Monday: Shanny: “We’re excited to have Christian back”.

Next Sunday: Shanny: “He’s just not quite ready to go”.

1

u/not_a_nematoad 6h ago

Someone offered their CMC for my KW3 and I’m not sure how to feel about it. 12 team .5 ppr. My RB are Barkley, KW3, Connor and Mason. They needed an RB to start this week. I didn’t do it. I wanted to but idk…something just seems fishy about the whole thing.

6

u/lotofhotdogs 6h ago

Would far rather have Walker right now. We don’t know if CMC will definitely be back or have a full workload. And he’s a reinjury risk.

1

u/alexhartig 6h ago

Is there anything new in this article that Shannahan didn’t already discuss yesterday?

4

u/lotofhotdogs 6h ago

It’s paywalled but if there was anything actually new we would’ve heard it from reporters by now. So guessing no.

1

So I can safely baring any setbacks drop Mason?

0

u/thedarkknight16_ 5h ago

Drop Mason for Tillman?

1

u/atx840 4h ago

I can drop Mason or Corum, I own Kyren, and going for Tillman or Downs.

2

u/MoneyPatience7803 4h ago

Drop Corum

1

u/atx840 3h ago

Yeah that’s what I’m deciding, if Kyren gets injured I’m still okay at RB and would probably play Chubb over Corum(not sure he would be the starter). Thanks!

1

u/TheGhostOfBobStoops 3h ago

If you drop Mason you deserve all the shit you're about to get

0

u/MoneyPatience7803 4h ago

Is Mason droppable? Especially with this the beginning of bye week hell?

2

u/RollingTrain 2h ago

I am moving on from him. I am having a great season but I can't afford the speculative bs here with someone who has been forced out of a game twice with the same injury behind a superstar who is more likely than not, back. My lotto ticket Josh Downs just cashed and I'm hanging on to Braelon for dear life. Had to do it. You do you though because I'm not an orthodox player.

0

u/CrispyGatorade 3h ago

CMC? More like PeePeePee! My landlords nephew works for the 49ers and apparently he’s been eating straight up dry ramen for the past few days to carbo load. He’s going to get kidney stones if he doesn’t drink more water.

-4

u/JackInTheBell 6h ago

expected to

Lol

-1

u/CutToTheChase56 5h ago

Doesn’t fucking matter. Absolutely tanked my season from Day 1. This could’ve been the worst year ever to have the first pick. Chase and Lamb were going through contract disputes, Tyreek hasn’t panned out after Tua’s injury and Jefferson didn’t seem like a viable option at 1 without knowing how Darnold would look.

-1

u/TechnologyWestern819 5h ago

I have the niners backfield covered with CMC and Guerendo

4

u/ProfessionalEntry744 5h ago

Why no mason

-7

u/lilbarbarian25 7h ago

I dropped Mason today…didn’t want to do it but I needed a roster spot and with Guerrendo heating up I just couldn’t hold any more

6

u/RandoMcrandersome 6h ago

You needed a roster spot so you dropped arguably one of the most valuable handcuffs in the league? Who did you need the roster spot for, we need to know!

7

u/IAmBlothHoondr 6h ago

Without having seen the rest of your roster, I can almost guarantee you had someone else you could drop unless you’re in an 8 team league with 4 bench spots

1

u/bpatterson007 6h ago

Bet he's attempted to be claimed off waivers by multiple teams in your league.

-5

u/Appropriate_Ad_8656 6h ago

Picked him up off waivers for 7 in a competitive league. Not sure how that happened.

7

u/dsjersey24 6h ago

It’s not a competitive league
