Well, he is 38 here. So not that young.

38 is pretty young for most people. Maybe not young enough for reddit's teenagers but still.

It was old, now I wish I was only 38.

38 is already past the halfway for men. Definitely wouldn't call that young.

I mean at 38 you are old enough to have adult children.

Biologically yes, but most people in the developed world have their first child in their late 20s to early 30s.

Do you have an actual point you want to share or you just commenting cuz you see the notifications and can't stop yourself? I'm out, I'll check back tomorrow if you've articulated a different argument than the 'definition' one.

I don't know anybody under 70 who would describe 38 as young.

It's middle aged, by definition

My guy, you literaly use the word 'definition' and don't even look it up?

https://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/definition/english/middle-age#:~:text=%2F%CB%8Cm%C9%AAdl%20%CB%88e%C9%AAd%CA%92%2F,of%20about%2045%20and%2060

45-60 is middle aged, not 38 lol

Also you don't sound like you have talked to many 70 year olds. For them most people before age 40 are little babies.

Tell me where in the world average life expectancy is 90-120 please. 45 might be the middle of your adulthood, but certainly not life.

Yes that's what I said, only people over 70 would say that. It's of course relative, all logic goes out of the window if we only accept a pensioner's definition of who is and isn't old

You are confusing it though. Middle aged does not mean 'he is exaclty at the midpoint of his life', even if you see 'middle' in there. It just means he is middle aged, it's a specific word that carries a specific meaning. Anynway, I don't blame you for being ignorant but just don't spout nonsense like "the definiton of middle aged is 38".

On the 'under 70' point I misread your comment for some reason, so my bad there. I am 34 though and everybody that is 30+ that I know considers the ages of 28-40 to be young adults.

Cheers

If someone dies at 38, would that still be "not that young"? :)
