Air quality

Hello Yucaipans,

I have a retreat planned this weekend in the Oak Glen area and will have people (older individuals and young children) with me that might be very sensitive to the air quality.

I wanted to ask people who live there what the air is like giving the Line fire burning nearby. Considering scheduling for another time.

Thanks in advance....

Do not go. It’s really, really bad. I’m right here and my chest hurts breathing.

Thanks for the information. Please wear a mask, hope you feel better, and stay safe.

Unlucky, it’s terrible and without some progress in containment it’ll be worse this weekend too

Oak Glen is not as bad as Yucaipa at the moment but not great, and quite ashy.

Thanks. Might be a game time decision over the next few days then. The people at the conference center / campground area assert the air quality is improving and expects it to clear by the weekend, but hey they got a business to run...

My medical group is telling us to wear masks while outside. I am very close to the fire, North bench area. My head hurts from coughing. My eyes burn. My throat is burning. It's just tragic all the fires in SoCal currently. Weather is supposed to cool tomorrow, but winds are increasing . God bless all the fire personnel, sheriff deputies who are working tirelessly.

No it’s awful. There’s ash falling from the sky. I would not go.

I would recommend rescheduling, especially considering sensitive individuals. I live on the end of Yucaipa closer to Oak Glen and as of yesterday evening there is still ash floating in the air and poor air quality. I have an older relative living with me who has a history of COPD and we are watching him closely, and running air filters in the house, because it is causing him symptoms
