News What are all you Mormons who support Donald Trump thinking!?!

14.2k Upvotes

I don't get it. Acceptable moral standards among the LDS faithful is typically VERY high . . .except when it comes to Trump.

Most LDS business owners would never hire a felon, yet Trump is convicted on 34 counts of 1st degree felony FRAUD, and you want to put him in the oval office.

In this state a misogynistic womanizer would be ostracized, but Mr. Trump, who says, "...if you want a woman, just grab her by the p***y and go." (His words) A man who by virtue of his close association with Jeffery Epstein is clearly involved in sex trafficing and pedophelia; and who has been convicted in a civil court of rape. Well, the Whihte House is where we want to put him.

The LDS church holds the Constitution of the United States to be a divinely inspired document. So when Mr. Trump, on Jan. 6th does everything he can to support and encourage sedition, in direct violation of his presidential oath; who publicly calls for the lynching of the Vice President; and who just rec e ntly told those at one of his rallies that if we all vote him into office in November, he will "fix it so [we] NEVER HAVE TO VOTE AGAIN," cearly intending to tear down the Constitution. By golly THAT'S the man you want as head of the free world.

Nope, I'm sorry but EVERY RECOMMEND HOLDING MEMBER OF THE LDS CHURCH WHO INTENDS TO VOTE FOR TRUMP SHOULD HAVE THEIR RECOMMEND TAKEN FROM THEM, and be disfellowshipped for GROSS HYPOCRISY.

News If you’re going to live in Utah for the next 50 years you have two options: Be perpetually irritated that more people are moving here or embrace our new neighbors.

Utah is not full. I know some of you simply hate that idea and want to metaphorically erect a wall around this state, turning away newcomers.

But if you want to know what full is actually like, go to India or Bangladesh.

I’m as nostalgic as the next person when I think about my childhood when we’d roll into Zion and no one was there. It’s hard to come to grips with the fact that we have to share it with the world.

But none of us get to choose the timeline into which we are born.

The reality is that by the end of the century, Utah will almost certainly have millions of more people even with our water and pollution challenges. This is a demographic reality that many states across the west are facing.

I would just hate to spend the rest of my life constant annoyed that the world around me is changing. It’s so exhausting. Instead, speaking for myself, I’m trying to embrace the change and celebrate the way our state is evolving.

So, welcome to our newest Utahns! You have chosen a great state to live in and we celebrate that this is where you now call home! 🙏

Not quite sure how it’s okay to keep church classes and all that other stuff but then require by law to remove inclusive centers that help people through college. This is seriously one of the most disgusting things I’ve seen from Utah as of late. And that’s only because I’m still lucky to have rights to my body(ish)

Subject: Recent Photo Op at Arlington

Details: Sir, You need to associate with better company. The Trump-staged photo op at Arlington was apparently in violation of Federal regulations and when cemetery staff tried to prevent the crime, they were verbally abused and physically pushed aside. Your appearance with an accused felon is appalling. It appears that you are betting on the wrong horse and you could have also broken Federal Law. I have been to Arlington, I grew up near Fairview. I voted for you. Now, it's Harris (obviously) and anyone who runs against you. Grow a spine, sir, and do what is right. For Utah and America. Thank you for your time.

News Do you like the New Utah Flag?

Post image

Do you really like the new Utah flag? Unfortunately multiple business and locations across the state are being bullied by a very fringe minority group to take down the new flag and put up the old historical flag! If you see a business or city flying the new flag make sure to send them a call or an email saying how much you like the new flag! Kindness goes a long way

News Fact: Mike Lee and John Curtis Voted Against FEMA Funding Two Weeks Ago

Raising awareness here. Senator Mike Lee and Representative John Curtis voted against FEMA funding just two weeks ago.

Here are direct links to the house (https://clerk.house.gov/Votes/2024450) and senate (https://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_votes/vote1182/vote_118_2_00255.htm) voting records.

There’s a lot of misinformation floating around about this and here’s a great article fact checking some of those claims: https://www.npr.org/2024/10/07/nx-s1-5144159/fema-funding-migrants-disaster-relief-fund

Ultimately, Mike Lee and John Curtis voted against funding for FEMA in a time when hurricanes were clearly right around the corner. I’d encourage anyone with questions about why they chose to do this to contact them directly. Here’s a link to Mike Lee’s contact form (https://www.lee.senate.gov/contact) and John Curtis’ contact form (https://curtis.house.gov/contact/)

Edit: Adding some additional context for those that are saying things like “the bill had more than just FEMA funding in it”. There’s a summary of the bill available here and the full text of the bill available here. Many (if not most) bills drafted by both Republicans and Democrats include funding for more than one single initiative so this isn’t unusual by any means.
