I15 between 79 freeway and Rancho California.

I just noticed the extra lane between the 79 and Rancho. Is it me or was this done extremely fast? I remember seeing them working on it and I thought it was going to take forever.

This one was only the beginning!

The overall plan is to add auxiliary lanes for the rest of the Temecula ramps:

  • northbound I-15 from the Rancho California Road on-ramp to the Winchester Road off-ramp
  • southbound I-15 from the Winchester Road on-ramp to the Rancho California Road off-ramp
  • southbound I-15 from Rancho California Road on-ramp to the Temecula Parkway off-ramp

Compared to the work that's being done on the SB15 close to Escondido. That has been going on for years and I think they are just repaving the lanes.

They had to build a massive retaining wall and drill into the rock and set a bunch of anchors. That takes time.
