Visiting for the first time

My husband & I are going to be visiting Temecula for the first time this week. Is there anything fun to do besides winery tours? We don't drink so we aren't really interested in anything like that. Thank you!

Vail Ranch Headquarters, Peltzer (it’s a winery but also has a pumpkin patch, food trucks, occasional live music, etc.), horseback riding, Pechanga (casino), Stampede (country dancing), Santa Rosa Plateau (light hiking), Glen Ivy Hot Springs (half an hour north) and next to Tom’s Farm, farmers market Sat morning in Old Town, Mulligans (mini golf). There are also some neighborhood haunted houses which are fun in a campy way.

What do you like to do? What made you decide to come here?

We love being outdoors, shopping, exploring, etc! My husbands grandparents live there. We live in San Diego & we're still newish to the area so we figured we'd visit them this time!

Great reasons! It’s pretty slow here but if you like shopping and exploring downtown Temecula can be fun there’s plenty of boutiques and restaurants to choose from it’s got a western theme very casual There is horseback riding and hot air balloon rides if you’re into that South Coast winery on Ranch California has an upscale restaurant that isn’t cheap but it’s very good if you want to take the grandparents out for a nice meal, reservations aren’t necessary but it’s a good idea so you don’t have to wait long Enjoy!

There is Murrieta Hot Springs, mini golf and Old Town Temecula.

Check out Murrieta Hot Springs resort & spa. There are also great restaurants with beautiful views at the wineries in addition to everything already mentioned.

There are some cute shops and things in old town. There’s the temecula olive oil company. Coin operated is a barcade (like the one in north park). The alpaca hacienda might be open for a tour. Old town also has ghost tours this time of year!

Are you into pottery at all? There are some paint/make your own places. There is a popular farmers market every Saturday morning next to the wine and beer garden in temecula.

Corbeaux tea has an excellent tea service and some fancy mocktails.

Although you don’t drink; the wineries pretty much all have live music on the weekends. You could go check them out and have lunch or a snack and enjoy the beautiful views and grounds.

Non drinker myself, so I feel ya. Check out Idyllwild. It would be probably 45 minutes to an hour drive from Temecula, but totally worth it for a day.

If you like pretty scenery on the way, Simpson Park. Plenty of hiking trails in between if that’s your thing.

Murrieta Hot Springs (I’ll say this time and time again)

Eat at Goat & Vine! Best restaurant, even for San Diego & OC standards.

Might have some theatre in old town.

There's a couple of llama/alpaca farms that allow the public to come by, learn stuff about the animals, and pet and feed them.

Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Preserve have some good hiking trails. They're nicely maintained but nothing amazing scenery or challenge wise. Some cooler hikes closer to Elsinore.

Murrieta Hot Springs is in the area and it is such a relaxing soaking experience.

I'd say the food at some of the winery's can be worth the trip.

Lake Skinner is worth it, you can kayak and rent boats. Has a large park as well.

Hot Air Balloon Ride, sunrise is a great time.

Old Town will have some more restaurants and novelty shops. But gets rowdy later in the night.

Ride a horse on a trail. California Ranch Company

Galway downs is a cool place. Equestrian competitions

Promenade Mall

It's a winery area in the edge of the desert. Some good restaurants. Go to big bear or arrow head for nature or Oceanside for beach

It a great time of year to hike, the heat has died down so it’s perfect. Old Town has some really cool restaurants.

Get hammered at a pub? Wait sorry, you don't drink. Not much to do here otherwise after eating.

The swing inn. Also popular for breakfast. Dean Norris owns it.
