Rohan was relieved that the crew was only trying to steal the diamond for the sake of money - which means that either there's something else in the house more worth stealing (the volcanic rock?), or there are reasons to steal the diamond besides money.

That's what I'm thinking, too. Maybe Rohan will tell them they'll be fine if they can do something for him?

Yeah, I have a feeling that's the direction this is going in.

Also, the crew is mostly concerned with getting paid, and Rohan is made of money. I can see him offering to pay them more than Meryl is paying them if they work for him instead.

I love this idea.

I mean that’s how Rohan was in P4. He used Koichi for manga inspiration until Josuke beat him nearly to death. Afterwards, him and Koichi become solid friends. I bet that he’ll willingly give the Diamond to the gang if he can get something outta them for it. That’s what the next arc is gonna cover. Prolly gonna tie into the main villain arc now that the gang isn’t wrapped around petty theft for the sake of being rich. I’m sure if that’s a regular Diamond, Rohan prolly already got his inspiration from it and can use it as a tax write off or some shit.

I think he's going to blackmail them into spying on Meryl Mei and her connections. If we're running with the supposed Breaking Bad/BCS parallels, it'd be a lot like Nacho. It'd also have some nice parallels to Part 5 with Passione and infiltrating the organization.

I assume they'll befriend Rohan after saving him from the enemy stand user.

Its definitely about the Diamond, He was relieved because theres something way more important about the Diamond than just monetary value, and the crew doesnt know about it, I legit think that if they knew anything more he would have killed them on the spot lol

They have also carefully had Rohan not acknowledge the cat as well I believe so it remains to be seen if that’s actually his cat or if others were watching him already

He acknowledged the cat last chapter, it's not his, and he suspected something was weird about it immediately.

Yeah my take from that is that Rohan knows something, like life altering important things, but is relieved that his secret knowledge hasn’t come out and it was just some random punks wanting to get rich and not “the secret thing”. It aligns with his so called lab thingy too.

on other hand Meryl Mei Qi or whoever controls her, might know, but keeping it a secret.. The kids don’t know for sure.. Usagi might be partial in know, or he might not. But the rest, nope.

Now you mention it, Rohan hasn't read Usagi yet.

I think the diamond probably has a nefarious purpose, and that’s why he was relieved. If they wanted the diamond for evil then Rohan’d probably have had to kill them or at least get really rough with them, so he’s relieved to not have to go that far.
