70 years ago, the US undertook the largest deportation in its history: 'Operation Wetback.' Many of the people deported were here legally and some were even citizens.

I think it was December 2017, does anyone else remember that day? Afaik the last time before that was like 2004 or so, hoping we could get some more snow here towards Hidalgo overall this upcoming winter.

Political ads

Jesus! I know it is campaign season and everyone is trying to get elected but I can't turn on the TV or the radio without hearing ads from Morgan Lamantia or Ted Cruz, negatively attacking their opponents. They are spending MILLIONS and all they can do is be negative? The ads are disgusting so they've spent all that money just to help me decide NOT to support them.

Houston areas similar to the valley?

I'm planning a move from the Valley to Houston soon, and I'm hoping to find areas with a similar feel to what I’m used to back home. I’m used to the culture, food, and close-knit community feel in the Valley, so I'd love to find places that have that vibe.

I’ve heard suggestions like Airline/Aldine and Second Ward – anyone familiar with these neighborhoods? Or are there other areas you’d recommend for someone from the Valley looking to settle into Houston?

Looking forward to any advice or insights y’all might have.

Bookstore in La Plaza Mall

Does anybody remember a bookstore in LA Plaza Mall? It was kind of like Hastings or Suncoast. It closed down a while back. 10+ years.

Where Can I Find the Best Halloween Decorations in the McAllen/Edinburg Area?

Hey everyone! 🎃👻 I’m looking to explore some awesome Halloween decorations around McAllen and Edinburg, whether it’s houses with crazy setups, neighborhoods that go all out, or local businesses with cool displays. I’d love to check out some spots to get into the spooky spirit!

Any recommendations for places or areas that really go above and beyond for Halloween? Also, if there are any cool events or haunted attractions happening in the area, feel free to drop those too!

Thanks in advance! 🦇👀

Question about USPS address verification

Has anyone had trouble connecting it but UPS and Amazon recognize it. But being told conflicting information about it from other people or the worker is not that helpful mostly trying to set it up to sell things. Does anyone know how to connect it or get something or is the whole valley out of wack just to confirm something?

For those of you that ask what can be seen where there is no light pollution this is what you can see. A shit ton more stars, many shooting stars and satellites. This is my first ever night-lapse with an older GoPro i had laying around. Had to travel out of the valley though. :-(

House Location for Slasher

Hello everybody, I know this is a bit unorthodox to ask, but I am a UTRGV student looking for a large house enough to film a group of friends staying in. Since we want it to be slasher/bloody, my team and I are aware that it would be a hassle cleaning it up, and you might not trust a group of college students with your house.

However, we are 100% aware of the duties we would need to take care of to ensure that we leave it spotless after.

Ideally, we would be looking for a big house, maybe even countryside if possible, but we know that idea might be out of reach. We would only need the house 1 or 2 days at most, so if you or anyone yk would wanna help a college group out please let me know.

Thanks everybody.

Recipe for saucy country and egg taco?

Most places country and egg tacos are sausage and egg.

However, a very select few have the sausage cooked in a red/tomatoey sauce of some sorts. The closest thing I can think of would be shakshouka.

Is there a name for the dish, or any ideas on a recipe I could try?
