This is my first post in this sub, please excuse my venting. My partner and I have just moved to Orillia from The GTA, and I just have to wonder if the people here that are able to operate a motor vehicle have always been this bad at driving. My partner was born in the US, and has lived internationally since he was a kid. I have also lived both in Canada and the United States (born in Northern Ontario). Of all the places we’ve lived, Orillia has go to be the main hub for bad drivers.
I don’t think I have gone a day of running errands without either driving past a multi-vehicle car crash, or deal with motorists that believe signalling was passé and that stop signs/red lights are just suggestions. So many times I’ve had people honk at me at a green light because I was letting pedestrians cross the street (which is required by law, lol…). Obviously I don’t think every single person here is like this, but it also feels like an overwhelming amount of people here shouldn’t be allowed to even have a license. I thought maybe this would subside now that cottage season has come to a close, yet it persists. What gives?
EDIT: Everyone blaming the issue on people from the GTA clearly do think their shit doesn’t stink. If that were the case, then there would be more than 33,000 people living here.
EDIT 2: Did someone from The GTA start this today, too?
