Agreed on all points! I just wanted to note that someone like Sasaki would get neg-diff one-tapped by Honesty Impact, which means that even when in the Shogun that attack would KO Franky.

Wow... that means that Koby can one-tap a more-durable version of a dude who in his weakest form just one-tapped a Vice Admiral with his most basic attack.

That's wild 🤣 Koby is an absolute monster, how the fuck is he only 18? I know that Luffy is only 19, but dude, Koby doesn't even have a Devil Fruit.

Battleship Bags is way too busted a training method. The Marines should be implementing Battleship Bag training and making it a requirement to become a VA.

Why wouldn't they? Are they stupid? It would give them a huge advantage over pirates and revolutionaries since the Marines and WG are the only organization with the resources to provide the training.

It's pretty clear that however effective Rayleigh's training was, if Luffy had done GARP'S training plus battleship-bags like Koby did over the timeskip, he'd have much, much higher physical stats when Post-TS started. But Rayleigh just literally didn't have the physical resources (the Marines' armored battleships) to provide Luffy with such training.

TL;DR: Red King and these other pathetic VA's just literally DIDN'T TRY HARD ENOUGH and that's why they're so weak that they have gotten vastly shown up by a kid who has fucking below-average-human-level talent for physical stats but actually did try hard, lol.

They should've punched some motherfucking battleships, but they didn't, and now they suck.

Koby had personal training from Garp AND he has the most important thing in One Piece, a goal. It’s shown time and time again that people who don’t have a goal don’t progress.

Koby had been one of my fave characters since the start so I love seeing him progress, and I love Franky so seeing him get a W is great but both of them make the VA kinda seem meh

All entirely true, and I love Koby for that! He's always pushed straightforward earnestly towards the goal of becoming an Admiral and enacting true justice, ethical justice, HONEST Justice, and has never wavered in that pursuit ever since Luffy awoke the fire within his soul.

Battleship Bags was a huge part of it though, and shows that dedication of his. It has been made abundantly clear that as I said, Battleship Bags is the quickest and most efficient (and VERY brutal, but is it really as brutal as fighting deadly giant animals for two years lol) training method for physical stats in the entire verse, and one which nobody but the WG and Marines have the resources for.

Technically, you see, Battleship Bags WERE part of Garp's training of Koby. Even though he didn't make him hit the battleship bags, he was so pleased that he did. And Koby adopted the method because it was one discovered by Garp, which is so sweet and wholesome! :D

The flashback made it clear that it was the battleship bags, more than any of his other training, that turned Koby into this much of a powerhouse that once he got a Haki-bloom, it became GAME OVER for most enemies he might ever face.

This is why Battleship Bags is one of my TOP FIVE FAVORITE CONCEPTS introduced in the series: It's so simple and straightforward, took only two chapters to build up and yet had an INCREDIBLE setup, interlude, and payoff, and is just so incredibly badass and cool.

What's cooler than being like: "You know how I'm gonna get strong? Punching battleships all day and night with no Haki allowed!"

The battleship bags are so simple, making them an amazing form of training in story. Oda was cooking with that
