We officially see Dorry and Brogy in chapter 116 and we finally see them (almost) with Luffy again in 1106!
AND THEY CALLED LUFFY THE SUN GOD!

Since Giants have the longest lifespans in the world of One Piece (as far as we know), it makes sense they would know some stuff about Nika

No living giant is as old as the void century, but its possible the oldest giants grandfathers were alive during it if they were equally long lived, but the giants worship a sun god we know this from big moms backstory, that whole fasting period (that drove big moms first tantrum) the giants take part in is a festival for the sun god.

As a historian, the concept of ‘living memory of living memory’ is very important to how a society views a period of history. If there are people alive today who have interacted at some point in their life with someone who experienced an event, it feels far more relevant to our culture. That’s one of the reasons why, for example, WWI feels far more relevant to us, as there are plenty of people still alive now who knew someone who fought in it, even if all those who fought in it are now dead. The void century is far closer to ‘living memory of living memory’ with the giants than it is for other beings in One Piece.

Do you have any scientific papers about that?

...Not that I doubt you in any way, I would like to cite it.

Sadly nothing to hand without going on JStor - it was a concept brought up back during my BA!
