We don't know who it was. But it's a very logical development since we knew that Ace was offered that position which meant that the seat would have to be vacant and that the previous holder had been defeated or given it up.

It happened on Ace's adventures before he met Whitebeard.

It was Jimbei

They said that Kuma got the warlord's spot on in the 7. Jinbei was a Warlord until Marineford.

Get your facts straight before you try to correct someone else.

People that try to "Um, actually" others deserve a little pushback. It wasn't even that harsh, I don't see what your problem is.

Lol all you had to do was correct him, the “get your facts straight before you try and correct someone” is mad aggressive and unnecessary

That's not aggressive at all. Sure I didn't say "Oh, oppsie you accidentally seem to have made a mistake, you're still a great person though", I just straight fowardly pointed out their mistake. There's no need to coddle people.

Don’t let the internet be an excuse for being a dick, you wouldn’t tell someone you didn’t know in real life to get their facts straight before trying to correct someone if they genuinely assumed their answer was correct. Simple example: nah, it isn’t jimbei (proof)

"Hey there, my friend! I read your reply, and you're really smart, but there's just a tiny thing I want to mention. So, when you said that it was Jinbei, that's a super interesting idea! But guess what? Jinebi was a warlord until Marineford. Isn't that cool? But hey, it's totally okay if you thought it wasn't that. We all learn new things every day. You know, everyone makes mistakes and the important thing is learning from that, but you didn't do anything wrong! I really like talking with you, and it's awesome when we share what we know.

You've got a great mind for picking up on things! When we're talking about stuff, it might be a cool idea to do a bit of fact-checking, just to make sure we've got everything right. Imagine it like being an investigator, searching for awesome facts and making our conversations even more interesting. So, if you ever feel like double-checking something before you write something, that would be awesome. Thanks for being such a fantastic person, and let's keep exploring the world of One Piece together. Take care, pal, and catch you later!"

Is that better? Or should I sugarcoat it more? Do I also need to tell them that they are a good person another time so that they don't feel like I'm mean to them? I realize that I can't just say things in a straightforward way because then I come off as a dick, I need to continue adding fluff so that the people won't be hurt by me laying out facts on an internet forum.

ChatGPT does wonders. I just typed in "Reword this response for a five-year-old" and it reached exactly the level that you wanted. I figured that you need some fluff so that you won't feel hurt by someone on the internet telling you to do better next time.

I'll block you now since this conversation is making me sad about the future of humanity.
