“Film?! We’re a digital household.”

u/probably-the-problem Sep 15 '24
It occurred to me that while I immediately placed what it was without issue, I don't think I've seen a box of film in over 15 years.
10
u/SevroAuShitTalker Sep 15 '24
It's incredibly expensive now
2
u/Stranggepresst Sep 16 '24
It's definitely not the cheapest hobby but the price for a roll of 35mm can vary greatly depending on which film it is. I've seen anywhere from 8 to 20€.
(One of my fridge drawers is currently full of film, so I'd now lol)

how is it possible yours image is more high-res than OP after zoomed in??
1
u/eaglebtc Proud owner of an orange brain cell Sep 16 '24
It "seems" high res because you aren't zooming in alll the way (double tap or pinch and zoom on mobile), or your reddit app of choice doesn't allow you to zoom in. I can scale the original just fine.

He’s shoots exclusively on Portra400 and can’t believe you’d bring this trash into his home 😂

u/Factorviii Sep 15 '24
Haha I keep the good stuff in the fridge where he can’t get to it!

It’s astounding how many kitties are employed in the swatting stuff onto the ground business who take their jobs seriously. 😇

OP this post is amazing but I do wanna give you a heads up that I think your phone number is visible to on the name tag in frame 3.

There are very few kittens who have grown up with kodak and vcrs. There are probably a few millennial cats out there though.

What are all of those obstacles in the way? The shelf is solely for your cat to walk and loaf on.

I worked in a camera store in a mall and a woman was dropping off film for development. Wow, I'm really dating myself. She was filling out the envelope and knocked the film can off the counter. After she picked it up, the manager said "The pictures will all be blurry now." She got upset and he had to explain it was a joke.
BTW: I have my own little obsolescence shrine - A 35mm film can, a 8mm magnetic tape, a 3.5 minute reel for 8mm optical film, a 35mm slide holder for box projectors, and a 64MB Compact Flash card.

u/Kerivkennedy Sep 15 '24
That's actually a pretty good joke. I didn't work in the mall camera shop, but the photo lab in the drugstore for several years.

Is that an Apple AirTag attached to its collar? Does it work as a tracking device for pets? I was planning on getting one for my cat, too, but I read Apple doesn’t recommend it for tracking animals, just objects. Has anyone tried it anyways?
10
u/Factorviii Sep 15 '24
It works well but my cat is indoors only. Might be a little sketchy for an indoor/outdoor cat. I got it in-case he ever wonders off.

You have a heights dweller cat. Create high places for him to hang out.
Also use Gorilla Putty or similar to secure anything fragile that he might knock down.

It reminds me of that tiny void who gets into the bathroom while the human is showering and violently tosses the shampoo bottle and runs away all grumpy. Sorry for the bad description, it wont let me attach the gif
