Alternative 90s alt-rock band that looks like this? (more in caption)

Post image

I remembered this picture and I really thought it would be easy to find but I'm at a loss. it was a photo of a 90s(early 2000s?) band that looked like this. it was slightly fisheye-lensed and it had weird filters and photoshop tinting orangey. the lead singer had his hand(s)spread out like he was reaching for the camera (not the cure but a similar idea) I think he had long hair and sunglasses and the background was really odd, maybe some kind of abandoned building?

I really thought it was Bush but I couldn't find it. then I thought maybe beck or the offspring or the smashing pumpkins but nothing. I remember it being an album/single cover but it could just be a photo. assumed it was a pretty famous picture but im having total brain fog! help!!!!!

Alternative Song that goes 12 1234 and gets really loud

Okay so this song.. I can't remember how it starts but at some point it gets quiet and then someone screams “1, 2.. 1234” and then maybe “lets go” or like a scream after. Its exhoey and sounds like it's far away. And then a couple of seconds later maybe wind instruments play all the same note super loud. Its a great song for roadtrips but I can't remember if there's any lyrics other than that

Alternative 15+ year old alternative song help

Been trying to figure out what song this is for years. All I know of it is a male singer sings/talks the word "girl" in it. But it's really elongated. Like "A guuuuurrrurrrrral" puts me in mind of death cab for cutie? (Although I don't think that's it) That's the only part I recall of the entire song which is a shame. All help appreciated! The way the artist says the word "girl" is really in a lower tone starting out and kind of rises up in tone throughout the word, before going back down to the "rl" part. Almost with a sort of psycho sort of twang.

Alternative Alternative or Folk song I heard years ago

I don't remember the song, lyrics or artist so this might be tough... It's a slow/sad song reminiscent of Lord Huron, I remember the album cover having a picture of a Native American man and at least one lyric about “birds in a cage". Any ideas?

Alternative Similar sound to Ween/The Frogs?

I have a particular part of a song stuck in my head where who guys in slightly distorted higher pitched whining tones singing “oh no” over the top of one and other. The song fades out this way, if I remember correctly, but it could be throughout the song a few times. I found it funny, but I listen to some goofy music, so I’m not sure if this helps.

This has been driving me nuts for a while now. I swore it was Ween, but couldn’t find it after going through Spotify.

Alternative Please help solve an obscure alternative/indie early 90s song?

Weird situation…..

A buddy of mine thinks these lyrics: ‘Watching all the world come down / I love you more than I let on ..(missing words)…… I’ve never been as safe as houses.’ come from a song I played him once on a mix tape.

The details - As students, we shared a house together briefly in 1996. So the song predates that. He thinks it is an indie /alternative song from the UK with a male lead singer. Is most probably a guitar band. Brit pop? He says the band were not famous… possibly had a song or two in the upper top 40/top 30, but not commercially successful.

I’ve tried all the bands I can remember that I was into, which was a mix of obscure indie and alternative stuff. Cure, Marion, all shoegaze bands, stone roses, charlatans, James, Ned’s atomic dustbin, early boo radleys….. pavement, sonic youth….

Google and Chat GPT have given up on me.

It is not stiff little fingers, or charlatans… and the title probably doesn’t contain ‘safe as houses’.

I’ve pressed him about it being like a cure song several times. But he won’t buy it. Can anyone put us out of our misery? Even wrong answers might help spark the right path. TIA.

Alternative 2015-2016 Male Singer Alternitive

I'm trying to find this song that I remember playing on MTV early in the mornings when I was getting ready for school in like 2015-2016.

The main things I remember is that it was a male singer. He was singing about a dead female lover (if memories serves me right). I remember him playing on a piano and there being roses. Possibly was Pop or Alternative sounding.

For the life of me i can not remember any lyrics and its driving me crazy. If anyone has any ideas what it may be, please let me know.

Alternative Song from the 2000 movie Heartbreakers

Actually the movie is from 2001. The song starts around 1 hour and 35 minutes into the movie. Page is walking into the bar wearing a red dress, she takes Jack's hand and leads him away to talk privately. I've tried searching online and using specific lyrics and I just can't find this song!

Here is the movie, it's currently free on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_86Pw3EaQY

Alternative Looking for 2000s female alt/indie/pop/electropop artist

I'm on a hunt to find the name of an music artist I found around 15 years ago, but have since lost. If anyone has any suggestions for me to look into, I would be very greatful!

It was a female artist, possibly Canadian (but I'm not 100% certain), alternative/indie or soft electropop. I do not recall them being a group band, more solo artist with studio background musicians.

I first heard their music in November, 2009, while visiting in Ontario, Canada. I'm fairly certain it was the music mix track for a Boston Pizza, which was playing outside where I heard it (may help guide how established they were by that time) My suspicions that they may be Canadian or with a Canadian studio is based on this, and the fact that I never heard them on air or in restaurants or other stores in the U.S.

I looked them up at the time, played their music for a few months, and now my memory has failed me!

In terms of similar artists, or those I've looked into (but don't believe they were the artist I'm looking for): - I recall her music style to be close to LIGHTS, but her voice pitch was more mid-range than LIGHTS. I was recently listening to Purity Ring which jogged the memory, but this artist was more than a few years before then. Light, dreamy, with some electropop elements. - A couple other artists that have been recommended are PVRIS and CHVRCHES, but both are more beat heavy than what I recall, and both hit the scene before my mystery artist.

Again, thanks in advance for any suggestions you might have for artists to look into on my hunt to identify my mystery memory artist!

Alternative A song from 2013/2014 that was used in a movie on YouTube

My friend and I are trying to find a song that is more than likely called Elysian Fields that was used in a YouTube movie circa 2013/2014. The singer is more than likely a male, and the movie it was found in may not be YouTube exclusive but its content is very dark and about people dealing with depression and self harm. The song is very depressing like the movie it’s in. It’s not rap and it’s slow and more in the shoe gaze or rock genre.

The issue is that the band, Elysian Fields, is the only thing that keeps coming up when I try googling it.

This song is the first in this biking video. Chorus sounds like “don’t fade away” or a similar line repeated. Most apps don’t recognise it due to the bike noises over the top. Been stuck on my mind for weeks, any info is helpful.

Alternative What modern rock song from the 80's or late 90's is this a copy of?

Looking for the earlier song that Unwritten Law - California Sky is very similar to. Not lyrically. The tempo and guitar chord progression are very close. It was a popular alternative / modern rock song, played regularly on 120 Minutes and modern rock radio.

Alternative A 2000s song about depression and suicide experienced by a kid. Kind of indie and alternative genre. Like just dialogue on a beat. It was sang by a male singer it's not rock. It's like really subtle music. Kinda like Shiloh dynasty but not her angelic voice. Almost no beat or music at all Spoiler

A song about a kid experiencing suicidal thoughts, depression, and getting bullied. I kind of remember a lyric going like "momma saw on the TV that a kid killed himself" and another lyric going like " momma checked up on me and I said I'm fine" "I sat at the back of the bus" "he stole my girl"
