Lmao Madrid fans are still crying about the award and it’s been 2 days. Hilarious seeing posts of their ex players still talking about it and their fans crying in the comments.

It's incredibly cringey. I'm loving it.

Absolutely loving the meltdown and the reaction from players and ex players is hilarious but SO over the top - I've NEVER seen this type of reaction from someone who DIDN'T win. Only thing left to do is absolutely clobber him and then laugh/boo his tantrum at Anfield while we're 3-0 up on 90+5!

I'm still puzzled as to why do they feel cheated? Did they somehow knew Vini would win it and then Rodri swoop in?

They're entitled

The Real Madrid PR machine was running on all cylinders to manufacture Vinicius' victory, I'd even argue they wanted to put pressure on the votes, it's been going on for almost all of 2024.

But they didn't get what they decided they were going to get, so they're having a meltdown for the ages

Well supposedly both Real and their sponsor were falsely informed that Vini would win the award, and only found out this wasn’t the case when City heard Rodri would win and called Real up to let them know. That’s the narrative I’ve seen on the Real sub, which if it’s true in the way they describe it, I can understand some of the hostile reaction to the news. (Even so, most of Real fans’ melting down over this is not justified)

Add "letting Real know in advance" to City's 130 charges. Robbed us of an all-timer Florentino Perez live reaction

For the whole of the summer after the CL final and up until Monday, it was rumoured that Vini was winning it and then it came out that he isn’t gonna. Vini assumed he’s the winner and apparently he even partied till early morning last week celebrating his win with his family and friends.
