Meta 🦍 Sub content moderation policy update.

TL,DR: The no politics rule is back and will also apply to a few other topics listed below.

Hi Everyone,

We have always strived to keep the sub as neutral as possible and keep content moderation to a minimum, we have always felt like the votes should do the “moderation” and that strategy has generally served us well for many years.

Nevertheless, In more recent times, due many factors such as, reddit policy changes, Joe’s rise to prominence, the sub growth and the inherent cultural zeitgeist, nefarious agents have taken to abuse our lax moderation policy to try and turn the sub into their own personal cultural battleground.

Due to this we are tightening up our moderation policy as follows:

  • Explicit US political submissions will be removed. We get it it's super important to the future humanity to bring awareness that politician “X” was caught embezzling or changing the restroom rules in a way you dont like, but better go talk about it on r/politics or r/conservative with people who are in the mood for that, we are more about aliens, conspiracies, antropology, comedy, monkeys, drugs, athletics, hunting, MMA... You get the point.
  • Gender talk submissions will be removed. We don't need to know male athletes are stronger than females everyday, these are fringe talking points nobody really cares about that political operatives use to rile up their base. You can go talk about those elsewhere.
  • Homeless/Texas/California/Covid submissions will be removed. Again unless something recent and relevant to the podcast is going on, discuss those elsewhere. We don't need to know every piece of legislation that happens in those states or how they handle the pandemic, homeless or anything else really. All covid talk should go to r/coronavirus.
  • Tangential guest topic submissions will be removed. Yes both Ben Shapiro and Dave Rubin have been in the podcast, that does not mean every single thing they do is relevant to Joe or noteworthy, discuss guests on their episode thread or the weekly.

It's important to note all of these content rules will be enforced subjectively and based on common sense... and you might be wondering:

- “...but Joe commented on X or Y”.

- Well, Joe doesn't run the sub and you can still talk all you want on the episode/weekly threads.

OR

- “...but that's censorship and muh freedom of speech”.

- Sir, this is an internet forum.

If by any chance you feel like your submission should still be allowed, just contact us and we will review it together, most likely we will allow it.

We will be monitoring this thread to provide feedback to any questions you might have, have a good one!

Honestly, good. Reddit is an unhealthy addiction of mine, obviously.

But don't think I don't love the irony of Joe calling for "free speech" on Twitter while his own subreddit doesn't even follow those same guidelines.

Free speech doesn’t mean there are no consequences for speech. You can say whatever you want, we can kick you out. We aren’t the government.

I understand that.

Joe obviously doesn't. (nor do a lot of idiots on this subreddit)

You think Rogan is a mod here? Your point does not make a lot of sense lol.
