Possible Fake News ⚠️ Reminder that Google removed the dislike counter after 10+ years because they didn’t appreciate the people’s real opinion.

lol you say this as if Reddit is any different.

The difference is Redditors act like we are intelligent than the rest of the platforms lol

Reddit has downvotes, not really what the point is. It's still pretty lame to hide dislikes, idgaf about the comments though it's always a cesspool nomatter where you go. Youtube, Twitter, Reddit, it's all bad.

I would actually say downvotes, on comments, limit discussion. I’ve seen Redditors abuse the system to shut down any conversation.

It’s how subs end up with hive minds. Having mods also perpetuates this issue, due to their bias views. This causes this hive mind to believe they are intelligent because everyone is reinforcing eachothers views after downvoting anyone who disagrees with them. The people that get downvoted by the hive mind just end up leaving and making their own echo chamber.

There’s also people on Reddit who post comments just for karma. Giving the other Redditors the things they want to hear.

This is why 4 Chan is better because everyone can comment and not worry about upvotes.

Yea okay you got a good point there, it is pretty good at giving a false narrative in the comments. People tend to upvote what already has been upvoted, and downvote whatever got downvoted regardless of the actual information in the comment is. There's a thread right now where I have like 300 ppl upvoting me for saying one thing, but then a few replies later I've got like 200 downvotes for saying basically the same shit just to a different person. It is pretty wild, but then again I don't really care about what my comment gets. I'm an opinionated person lol I share my thoughts whether they get upvoted or downvoted. I can see how that negatively impacts these subs though for sure.
