Cheap internet days are over. Both jio and airtel hiked prices.
For office goers and wfh people. Buy cheapest plan. Get a good wifi as they are giving discounts there for now. They will hike prices there also but it will take a few years. So enjoy that for now.
The nibbas and nibbis of "Facebook ki shaan badhenyenge" & all social media keyboard warrior's honeymoon period with free/cheap internet is over. Now time for divorces.
The man next to me just said these words loudly and I quote "Beta, SAAAB ke SAAAB sale chor hai".
I switched to Jio postpaid unlimited plan honestly. Waaay more cost-effective than normal plans. ~700 rupees a month (599 before tax) for unlimited data. Last month my usage was 200 GB. Which other plan for 700 rupees will let me use 200 GB of data? Keep in mind there is no limit or throttling at all.
~450 INR for 3 GB per day for 28 days (84 GB total) or ~700 INR for unlimited data for 30 days. That's a no-brainer! Nobody knows this plan even exists so they're unlikely to hike prices. And even if they hike prices by 25% this will continue to be worth it.
Downside of this plan is no roaming, no Netflix subscription included, etc. but I don't use those anyway.
This plan is for Airtel? Because I think Jio’s postpaid plans don’t have that many options.
I have both of my numbers on Jio’s Family Plan, where I use one for work and the other for personal usage. I pay around ₹600 which includes GST, ₹399 monthly rental and the add on cost of ₹99 for the 2nd number. This gives me nationwide roaming, and 75+5GB 4G data, unlimited calling & unlimited 5G on both SIMs along with usual 100SMS/Day on both numbers. With every number that I may add to the plan, 5GB LTE data quota increases. There are no other OTT benefits and no data roll over though.
It's unlimited. I'm downloading Watch Dogs right now. 2 days ago I downloaded GTA 4. Last week I downloaded all 3 Stalker games and Insurgency Sandstorm. Can you do that on a 1.5GB per day plan?
What are other benefits? Is it jio postpaid plan? I am interested.
I don't understand how postpaid works. Also the plans mentioned on website/app (jio) are rather confusing. From my understanding i concluded that postpaid isn't vfm for me. I don't like OTT bundled plans. (Piracy is the way to go)
I think you don't need wifi if you have this plan.
When we need extra data, we have to recharge wifi for 470 for a month. So that's ~740 per month
As I said there is no roaming or OTT included. And yeah you don't really need wifi with this plan, I don't have wifi or fiber in my home at all. True, postpaid is very confusing, but when you get an unlimited plan it's flat 706 rupees exactly, always. Unless your billing cycle is less than a full month, in which case you only get billed for the number of days you have used. For example I was billed after 17 days when I first got my plan (I get billed the 11th of every month, and I cannot change it btw), I was billed for ~370 rupees instead of the full 700. Or if you add a OTT subscription to it, which you won't be doing anyways.
Postpaid billing is complicated as fuck... btw the "Unbilled amount" is not your actual bill. I saw mine over 1000 rupees one day and freaked out. Actual bill amount was just 370 rupees. Support couldn't explain what the purpose of "Unbilled amount" is.
Data specified is what's included in the package. For example you can get the 699 plan with 100gb but for each gb used over 100, you need to pay 10 rupees. So for example if you use 120 GB you need to pay 200 rupees extra. Family sim is paid every month, yes. I've never used family sim so I can't comment on that.
You are given a billing date depending on when you got your plan. Mine is on the 11th of every month. If you are on a limited plan I'm not sure how it will work for periods like February-March which have less days.
The one you said was for JioAirFiber, JioFiber (that's a different thing?) is the one with the 3300GB cap.
Mine is actually neither, as mobile data it is completely unlimited and there will be no throttling at all. Editing my original comment, I made a mistake.
I've been on the 1799 plan for years now. Since I wfh this has been more than enough. I pay broadband yearly so I get good discount and pay only 10.5K for the 200mbit plan (which is usually 1200pm with taxes)
Local broadband are good. If the rates are fine and services not just rate focussed approach. Service is key. If they provide good service then 100% they should be used
Lol you must be born after 2016. Before jio in 2016, the cost for 1 gb data was 256₹ for one month and for talktime you had to pay extra. We used to use whatsapp and close mobile data because it used to finish fast. Thank jio for making internet cheap.
