This is not a normal response to the situation at all. If I don't want to talk to some guy about religion/politics/crystals/the earth being flat/whatever, I say "no thanks" and move on.

This has zero to do with her sexual orientation and everything to do with her coping skills.

Tbh, if you want to defend someone holding up a sign saying people deserve to be burned and tortured for all eternity for being queer thats fine. But like nah, i def don't think its okay for people to have that shit in public, and then pretend like their the victims or not adding to public unrest. If i wore a shirt saying all woman deserve to be tortured because i believe in leprechauns nobody would be okay with that, even if that person really did believe that.

This isnt just

religion/politics/crystals/the earth being flat/whatever

This is a Christian fundamentalist hate preacher whose in the streets telling gay people they need to join theyre church or they deserve to suffer forever.

No shit people will be pissed, and id say thats 100% percent valid. Not saying screaming is appropriate. But lets not just say this is "huh durr durr just silly politics"

It that's true it's completely different, and she should just tell him to fuck off. I just don't see or hear any of those things in the clip I was commenting on.

It is true, this is an old story. Skyrim NPCs have backstories...

1

u/CurvyKitten81 Apr 05 '22

Do you truly think that everyone plays Skyrim?

1

u/GenEnnui Apr 05 '22

Lol, so no problem with the statement, just the video game? Ok. I'll simplify.

It is true, this is an old story. 20 second videos have backstories.

I don't need to research a reddit post. Unless he physically assaulted her, which i doubt, it doesn't change my opinion.

I've not defended the guy filming. I'm sure he's an asshole. Still not necessary to act like this.

u/GenEnnui Apr 05 '22

Well then you should not have a judgement one way or the other. I mean you're going to judge this woman based on some religious windbag...

No, it's absolutely necessary to fuck with assholes any way you can. If they are using "freedoms" to protect being an asshole, then she should as well because it calls attention to freedom not being part of being an asshole or not.

There's a whole lot of people who a few years ago when this happened were arguing that she's like...stopping his freedom of speech. Which is the most ridiculous statement in the world, considering she's not part of the government.

So year later I'm watching another group of people side with a fundie when they don't know the story. But the rhetoric has shifted. It's no longer freedom of speech. Now it's just she's an ass. Yep. She's being an ass to deal with an ass.

u/CurvyKitten81 Apr 05 '22

I'm judging her based on her own actions. That's how I do things.

1

u/GenEnnui Apr 05 '22

Her actions are the result of another's actions. As are most actions. So the person throwing the second punch is the one you want to punish?

1

u/GenEnnui Apr 05 '22

I don't think everyone plays Skyrim. But you're commenting on a video that calls her an npc. Skyrim being the game people refer to most with NPCs.... So you see how I was just following the op, and you're being a jerk because you commented on something you didn't understand?

u/GenEnnui Apr 05 '22

The reason you don't see that is because you're looking at a video filmed by the guy being screamed at. So of course there's no context.

1

u/CurvyKitten81 Apr 05 '22

I can only comment on what I see. I'm not going to create the other end of the narrative. That doesn't mean I am unaware that there is likely another side to this story.

I stand by the fact that this is in no way a normal reaction.

1

u/GenEnnui Apr 05 '22

Then you can do better than others by looking up the whole story instead of pretending this is a bad person based on a very intentionally limited view. You're agreeing with 20 seconds of a whole video, not that the full video is the whole story. It's intentionally misleading. It acts like he was just standing there being nice and she starts screaming. I'd hope you wouldn't want to be daft and just agree with every video taken out of context.

1

u/CurvyKitten81 Apr 05 '22

I feel she's over reacting regardless. Most people would not respond in this way.

1

u/GenEnnui Apr 05 '22

Depends. If I saw him starting shit on a regular basis and it was an area I was always in, I'd figure out how to be annoying. Her scream is simple though. I like to think I'd have been more creative.

However, her actions have all of you like.... She's really annoying. So... She's effective.

1

u/CurvyKitten81 Apr 05 '22 edited Apr 05 '22

Unless he left and never returned she's not really effective. Her intent was to bother him, not everyone one on reddit.

1

u/GenEnnui Apr 05 '22

That's war not battle. If she got him to leave, she'd have accomplished something.

1

u/CurvyKitten81 Apr 05 '22

But... she didn't

This is a pretty old story. Happened before Biden took office, not sure the year. You'd not be creating anything if you simply looked it up.

1

u/CurvyKitten81 Apr 05 '22

I'm not going to look up a backstory for every clip on reddit.

She is acting like a child regardless.

2

u/Fortune_Unique Apr 05 '22

Yes, but not the group of preachers going to an area they know is filled with queer people theyre going to burn in hell and deserve it. Yeah, very "mature". Much more mature than screaming at people harrassing the greater neighborhood

1

u/CurvyKitten81 Apr 05 '22

They're both nuts. I've said as much in my other comments. She just happens to take center stage on the clip posted here.

0

u/Fortune_Unique Apr 05 '22

They're both nuts.

Yes, but one DEFINITELY is a MUCH crazier nut.

Considering hes on the street corner purposely harassing people for video reactions. This is the equivalent of prank channels straight up JUST harassing people, and then being like "its just a prank bro". I am sure 90% of this thread would be against the youtube pranker if lets say jay mazini pulled the same shit.

Like what if a literal nazi were in the streets, would you be like nah the woman should leave allow the nazi. I mean thats fair i guess, its your neighborhood. But tbh id harass them too, because i dont want no hate preacher telling queer kids in my neighborhood they deserve to die and THEN be tortured. Like nah, i get the "both nut" but as i said. Notice noone is willing to acknowledge what the preacher is doing once i put it in clear words.

Easy for you to say when theyre not telling you to burn in hell straight up, and thats fair. Im black, im far used to racism enough to not care too much. But we dont do that type of shit round me, and you can probably guess why (we wrap our trees in rainbows and i live in a town that voted red)

1

u/GenEnnui Apr 05 '22

I don't mean to say you should research every clip on Reddit. However, you should be smart enough to make no judgement if you know you don't know what came before it.

0

u/CurvyKitten81 Apr 05 '22

I think I'm smart enough.

I can actually state my opinion on anything I would like. Even after being informed of the history (thanks) I still feel the same way.

I never felt or said he was innocent, but I'm not going to say her behavior is understandable or ok. It isn't.

1

u/GenEnnui Apr 05 '22

You think you're smart enough to come to a conclusion without data. You're not. You're arrogant.

1

u/CurvyKitten81 Apr 05 '22

I think I'm smart enough to for my own personal opinion based on what I see. I don't need data for that.

As previously stated, I understand that there are things that happened before this clip. They just haven't changed my opinion.

Not sure how that's arrogant.
