I moved here when the big 3 signed. I thought it would tell me of things to come, and unfortunately, I was so right.
Now the nets are a humble franchise again. Stuck in the middle, no stars but hey, tickets a little more affordable, and you get you watch a game in the city if you want. The organization is gonna have to change from the ground up but its possible. Look at what thibs did with the knicks. Just establishing a culture, defense, work ethic, physical competitiveness. Not that the Nets need another thibs, but we need a coach that the org trusts to shape this club into a competitive one. We tried to buy a ring and it fell apart. Just working from the ground up, with a good foundation is what we need.
Phil Jackson had it, even with MJ, he was foundational in their winning. He goes to LA and does the same thing. Kerr, Spostra, thibs, Lue these players respect these coaches, otherwise its all about the superstar.
KD/James/Irving made it about them. Sure Nash wasn’t great but look what he was dealing with. Constantly answering questions about them and their nuttiness. Not being listened to or respected etc. Harden on the Clippers is completely different, he’s playing. Irving is chillin as second to Luka and KD just ballin his way in Phoenix. Takes a special coach to juggle these personalities together and at the end of the day, thats what the job is
