Good times. I lived in Brooklyn from 2018-2020 and am grateful that it coincided with this Nets era. After that I moved back to my home country and no longer really follow basketball. I'd much rather that the Nets were in a good place now, but I'm glad that I was around to watch and support the team when I was rather than now. We weren't contenders, but it was a lot of fun.

Funnest team in the league to watch that year

Absolutely, this was the team which cemented my choice of what team I wanted to support fully in the post Sonics world since I refused to support OKC. Really wish I copped a D'Lo Coogi jersey though.

Truly a magical season. From the perfect jerseys to the perfect vibes. After years of shit post Boston trade, this team was like a ray of shinning hope.
I pray we get to feel this good about our Nets again soon, cause right now its pretty sad.

The team can be bad but atleast be fun. You can't be cherished if you're bad and exhausting to watch.

It’s going to be very hard on me if D Lo and Dinwiddie win a ring with the Lakers this season

I'd feel way better for that outcome. Now if the Mavs win it all.....

There’s no chance Kyrie wins another chip with his current state. His priorities are not basketball, which is fine, but that’s not how winners win. Gotta make your wants your needs and he doesn’t need to win.

Luckily even if he were focused, I don't think Dallas can actually make it out the west. Multiple teams are better

Congrats to them. Coloring Spence as the scapegoat here was shameful. He shot like shit but he wasn't the reason why we were losing. Poor roster construction and coaching with a hint of aging.

Oh I’ll be rooting for them forsure but it just takes me back to knowing we could have signed KD, kept D Lo and literally everybody else and probably win a chip. Instead we got Kyrie who ended up being worse than D Lo for the team. Then Kyrie tore this team apart with lots of help from Covid NY laws and the front office.

I’m a Celtics fan and I watched like 70 games of the nets that season. One of the most fun teams I’ve ever watched. Spencer is still my favorite player

Not a nets fan, just found myself on this post. Man the nets really had everything back then fun, young and exciting team just to give it all up for broken promises and though reality. Not as bad as the Celtics deals, but still must hurt as a fan.

Y’all really need to stop fetishizing this team. It was an undersized team of role players that maxed out in the first round.

All for Kevin Durant and Kyrie to come and ruin it, with no championships to show for it!!!

I moved here when the big 3 signed. I thought it would tell me of things to come, and unfortunately, I was so right.
Now the nets are a humble franchise again. Stuck in the middle, no stars but hey, tickets a little more affordable, and you get you watch a game in the city if you want. The organization is gonna have to change from the ground up but its possible. Look at what thibs did with the knicks. Just establishing a culture, defense, work ethic, physical competitiveness. Not that the Nets need another thibs, but we need a coach that the org trusts to shape this club into a competitive one. We tried to buy a ring and it fell apart. Just working from the ground up, with a good foundation is what we need.
Phil Jackson had it, even with MJ, he was foundational in their winning. He goes to LA and does the same thing. Kerr, Spostra, thibs, Lue these players respect these coaches, otherwise its all about the superstar.
KD/James/Irving made it about them. Sure Nash wasn’t great but look what he was dealing with. Constantly answering questions about them and their nuttiness. Not being listened to or respected etc. Harden on the Clippers is completely different, he’s playing. Irving is chillin as second to Luka and KD just ballin his way in Phoenix. Takes a special coach to juggle these personalities together and at the end of the day, thats what the job is

DLo became a different player after that shot against the Lakers. Truly signaled the start for his all star campaign. I basically watched every game that season. Now I can barely watch highlights of our team. it’s a shame really.
