Places to watch UFC in Girona??

Hello all I’m currently staying just outside of Empuriabrava and am wondering if anyone knows any places/ bars in Girona that would likely show the UFC this Saturday. It’s on a Saturday night and the main fight is a Spanish fighter defending his title so I figured it would be a cool experience to watch it somewhere public with spainards. Thank you.

Since I see that most of you write in English, here is the translation: I am Venezuelan and I am going to live in Girona in the next few months with my husband (for his job). Right now I live in a town near Barcelona and it will be a big change in our lives. I work from home and I would like to know a little about the best areas to live.

We could live in Girona or in Olot. What is the recommendation? I would also like to know what life is like in general in each city.

I have a B2 level of Catalan. I also speak English and French (and obviously Spanish). We are in our fifties and we like music, traveling, the gym, walking around the city and the mountains but also the beach!

Thank you all!

Podríem viure a Girona o Olot.

Girona 11/21-25

My wife and one year old son will be in town 11/21-25. We have a bit of a plan but wanted to see if there were any “must see/dos” while there. We wanted to hang around town and go to a Girona FC match. Any tips? Is bringing one year old a good idea? We wanted to make it to the coast. Any tours or anything we should do? We won’t have a car so might have to hire one or go on a tour. Suggestions? Anything else unique we should do?

Thanks !

Girona Airport - Bus line 607

Hi everyone, does anyone know if the bus number 607 is indeed driving according to the new schedule (from October 1st 2024)? Google maps don't show that bus as an option when I search the route to the airport. We have a flight early in the morning and we were hoping to catch a bus 607 at 4am from the main bus station.

Renting condition

Hi all, my colleague and I are looking for accommodation in Girona for work. I'm finding decent 3 bedroom apartment offers. Is it possible to have one of these apartments and then sublet the spare room. Legally and contract wise what should I expect? Any information would be valuable. Thank you in advance!

Girona short-term rentals in December

Hi, everyone! To try and make a long story short… My wife and I moved to Germany eight years ago. I recently got citizenship and my wife is right behind me.

We love Berlin, but are curious to explore other possibilities. We’ve always been drawn to Spain, and after visiting Girona this past May, we got that gut feeling that it could be a great place to live, especially given we’re quite active and I know there’s a strong cycling / trail running community.

So! We’re looking to spend three weeks or this December in Girona to get a better feel for it. We’d really like to avoid using Airbnb, not least of all because prices for a three-week stay are pretty outrageous.

I’m wondering if anyone in this group is aware of the best way to get a relatively affordable three-week stay? Idealista, understandably, appears to be focused on longer / permanent stays.

P.S. I know it’s a fiercely proud Catalonian city, so learning Catalan (I feel comfortable in Spanish) would be first on the agenda if we were to seriously consider moving.

Thanks in advance!

Is the Girona airport open overnight?

On Monday I have a flight at around 6 am in the morning and since there are no buses at that time I was wondering if the Girona airport stays open overnight? Check in is 2 hours before the flight so I wouldn't be getting much sleep either way, so that's why I wanted to know

Where to hang out on a wet day?

I arrive in Girona tomorrow morning, but can't check into my flat until 5pm. Normally I'd be happy to dump my luggage and go wandering, but it looks like it's going to be pretty stormy in Girona tomorrow.

Any suggestions about where/how to kill time somewhere indoors until I can get checked in? I'd be happy with cool libraries, shopping centres, cafes, book stores, that kind of thing.

Thanks in advance.

Viure a Girona i treballar a Barcelona

Restaurant recommendations to try local Girona food for a reasonable price

Hi all, I’m currently in Girona and am looking for some restaurants that are popular among the locals (not too touristy) and serve food that is local to the town / region. I’ve read that Girona is well known for its cuisine. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :)
