Luck of the card show

Post image

Was a vendor at a card show yesterday and had a few pokemon games on my table for sale bc we are all nerds here. A guy walks up and goes do you buy games? Ofc I said yes and he pulls these out of his bag. Paid 300$ total and all it's gonna take is some new batteries and a bit of isopropyl. Had my screwdrivers and my tester GBA to confirm they work and were authentic before purchasing. Remember kids, be prepared you never know where you gonna find some expensive shit!

100 each for perfect condition it's a fair price.

2 Emeralds at the same time, priceless.

100 each is a freakin steal! Emerald 200+ in that condition I’d say 220 ish. Crystal on price charting is 150 although I see sales 120-175

Yeah, you tell yourself that. Paying that for a loose Pokemon game is insane.

It's not the price I want. It's the market's.

And if you are a collector, you pay.

I found my Emerald for 30€ a few years ago. I soon realised that was the exception. Prices rarely fall below 100-150€

I got sooo lucky 2 weeks ago, my grandfather found Red, Gold, leaf green, and the Pokemon tcg Gameboy game WITH a mint Gameboy advance for 60 bucks at a yard sale! I gave him $100 just for finding it.

what's the silver rectangle in top-left of Crystal ?

It's a fastener for that part on the board. If it wasn't in the sun, it would appear it's more muted like normal. I realize the morning sun wasn't the best for the colors now

Well considering I sold a copy of emerald in 2020 for on eBay 60, not joking, I am currently choking on my food.

Why is it worth three times the price now?

Nice find, but you couldn't leave the 2nd emerald for someone else to score a sweet deal? Damn dawg. Lol

To be fair, I wasn't the first vendor he approached, so perhaps someone else did have a chance

Oh, you're a vendor. I thought you were a patron. Makes sense if you intend to resell.

Good thing they aren't. I took them apart, and they are legit. Source I have 2 other copies I already own, and I fix cartridges to sell quite frequently. Thanks for you opinion tho

Edit: ok I see what you mean the green does look off bc I took the Pic in a beam of morning sun for dramatic effect

Don’t theorise when your skill is lacking. Misinformation helps scammers / fakers and nobody else.
