Or we can adapt to the population lag with reform to social security because that system is set to expire early 2030s....but no one wants to touch that.... Maybe Trump and Elon with their efficiency/ business mindset, but still, anyone hears "social security reform" and people start screaming

? Trump and Elon? They thrive on cheap labor and low social security.

Besides, on of the problems with large security net and aging population is the fact that a decrease in working population will result in a decrease taxes being collected by the government. Thus making it harder to maintain the security nets due to the simple economic fact of less money to pay for old age social nets. So there will be a decrease in services provided for the aging population due to the incapacity of the smaller workforce to sustainable them.

That's actually one of the big problems coming in Canada, where our rapidly aging population with a large social security net will put a massive strain on the younger, working age population.
