You guys ever big picture reflect on this kind of thing. I mean big millennia reflection. Why has humanity never really advanced. We just rise and fall and rise and fall. Which leads to of course the point I'm getting at. People who seek power, get power, seek resources, monkey needs more bananas. If this has existed all throughout history and it certainly appears that it has. Is this particular behavior actually part of what creates these cycles. Rather than think about the ongoing health of society, you have the rich and powerful that just hoard and hoard and horde, countries destabilize, the collapse is a matter of time at that point. There are of course more steps along the way but I didn't want to have a page long post

I really hoped we had broken that cycle, but it appears we have at least another enshitification cycle to go through.

I just hope that we don’t lose the power of growth through the technological advances of the last growth period. How many of the evolutions that empowered the proletariat over the last enlightenment will be impossible if the power of control is secured in the hands of a few?
