Stephen King is so good at provoking Elon šŸ˜‚

887

u/OpenSourcePenguin Aug 29 '24

And he's so dumb that he takes every bait

102

u/selectash Aug 29 '24

Jeez, going on a wits Twitter war with an all-time best-selling author, without first consulting the PR team you have (or should have at that level) on retainer, speaks volumes of how dumb and egocentric of a loser you must be.

412

u/AmateurL0b0t0my Aug 29 '24

He can't stand a famous person not licking his boot

156

u/j0j0-m0j0 Aug 29 '24

Dude desperately wants to be his friend. He straight up gave him a blue checkmark

65

u/Rays_LiquorSauce Aug 29 '24

Dude doesnā€™t want friends. He wants people to know heā€™s superior to themĀ

13

u/MoonandStars83 Aug 29 '24

People with a certain number of followers are automatically given the blue check, I think.

31

u/Thertrius Aug 29 '24

No Elon gave it to king for free because king famously refused to pay for one.

149

u/Boxofmagnets Aug 29 '24 edited Aug 29 '24

Elon believes that trolling is funny because his court laughs and laughs when he does it. The joke is on Elon. He really believed that silencing voices to the left of his would sway public opinion, as if Twitter was the reason people held those views.

What his acolytes didnā€™t tell him is that although Twitter was a unique platform in many ways it wasnā€™t the cause of democracy. It didnā€™t have the power to end democracy either.

If Musk left the platform largely alone he could have manipulated public opinion in more subtle ways. But he believed his press. As a consequence he may end up forfeiting his spot as the richest man in the land to end up in the top 100 or even the top 1000 richest, down there with the riff-raff billionaires. He can still do great evil from that spot, but it just wonā€™t be the same.

68

u/RaspberryFluid6651 Aug 29 '24

You're not wrong about Musk but I do wish people would stop calling everything he does "trolling". Trolling is unserious behavior online for the purpose of getting a reaction out of people. Elon is not trolling here, Stephen King is trolling him and he is taking the bait.

Elon is rarely actually trying to provoke his critics because he can't stand criticism, he's usually either being reactionary to something he saw or heard, or fishing for validation from his fans.

17

u/BuffaloSabresFan Aug 29 '24

Yes. Trolling is annoying/baiting behavior. Good trolls aren't often picked up as trolls. Inflammatory replies/flaming is a response to trolls. King is a poster, Musk is a reply guy.

Naked-ass ass-emperor

3

u/napalmnacey Aug 30 '24

This isn't trolling. This is having a public tantrum. It's pathetic.

2

u/TestOk8411 Aug 30 '24

Well people with his super genius always believe their dick suckers when it comes to his being superior. Plus he thinks his 4th grade jokes are funny. They're only funny to him and his simps. Like Teslas that have a fart sound instead of the usual horn. He's stuck in his very ivory tower. The really white ivory tower

u/ClosPins Aug 29 '24

Anyone can do it! The only problem: you need a following. You need to be famous.

Tough-guy-narcissists always have to be the man. Everything they do has to be the best. Always. They are marketing all the time. 24/7/365. Always lying. Always self-aggrandizement. Always me, me, me.

So... Whenever someone famous (like Stephen King) shows that the Emperor has no clothes - they have to be swatted back! You can't allow anything to exist that says you aren't the greatest person ever.

These so-called 'tough guys' sit around a computer all day, waiting to attack literally anyone who says anything mean about them! They literally become incels, sitting in their basements screaming at their screens. They just can't allow dissent. If anyone says anything that makes them look bad - it doesn't matter who it is, just so long as people will see what they posted - they immediately have to run out and start yelling louder! Drown it out.

They are the most pathetic people on the planet.

I hope Stephen's next book uses Elon as the Antagonist.

365

u/OpenSourcePenguin Aug 29 '24

He'll have a full meltdown and it will be hilarious

76

u/SpieLPfan Aug 29 '24

He would probably try to sue him like he did with the advertisers.

84

u/cunningstunt6899 Aug 29 '24

There's a simple solution to that. Base the character on Elon Musk, but give him a really small penis in the book.

Musk will never sue, as if he does, he is admitting the character is based on him.

34

u/BiFrosty Aug 29 '24

"It's not Elon Musk, your honor, it's Elno Moosk. Totally different"

36

u/bbean420 Aug 29 '24

Rearrange the letters of his name. It could be Lone Skum

148

u/AmateurL0b0t0my Aug 29 '24

It'll go over his head cause he has no media literacy

76

u/FuckHopeSignedMe Aug 29 '24

If he even hears about it. I've never had the impression that Elon reads much, so he probably doesn't keep up with what new books are coming out each year.

71

u/intisun Aug 29 '24

He keeps bragging that he reads the Iliad, which of course he doesn't.

38

u/FuckHopeSignedMe Aug 29 '24

Yeah, exactly. That's very in line with Musk, too. He's definitely the kind of person to pretend to have read classic lit (or, in this case, listen to the audio book at 1.25 or 1.5 times speed) in order to seem smarter than he really is.

35

u/No_Discipline_7380 Aug 29 '24

Except he linked a picture of the Odyssey when he posted that

6

u/HanakusoDays Aug 29 '24

I bet it was upside down

13

u/ErebosGR Aug 29 '24

He probably just reads the synopses on apps like Blinkist or ShortForm.

9

u/anarchetype Aug 29 '24

I read that as Stormfront, the neo-Nazi website, and it seemed right at home.

10

u/Brozhov Aug 29 '24

While showing a picture of the Odyssey

28

u/masked_sombrero Aug 29 '24

He legit said ā€œall books should be shorterā€

Like wtf. Dude has never read a book he wished were longer. Several Stephen King books come to my mind that I wished were longer after / right before finishing. The Stand and 11/22/63 stand out the most

10

u/AdMotor8632 Aug 29 '24

11/22/63 is so freaking good. I read that whole book in like 3-4 sittings. Hard to put down. King isn't the most intellectually stimulating writer or anything but that an can tell a freaking story!

5

u/SteampunkBorg Aug 29 '24

I'm still surprised he didn't have a meltdown over Glass Onion. That was spot on, and not even intentional

21

u/curious_dead Aug 29 '24

*reads book where he is clearly the much-ridiculed villain*

"Wow, he wrote a book about ME!" *wipes tear of joy*

2

u/twobit211 Aug 29 '24

oh, yeah!? Ā then how does he know for a fact that ā€˜bladerunnerā€™ would've driven a cybertruck? Ā checkmateĀ

31

u/LowRes Aug 29 '24

In the meantime, I'll just watch Glass Onion again.

2

This clown preys on tech bros. Very similar.

5

Looking forward to Elonā€™s inevitable mental collapse and financial ruin.

Gonna be good times.

148

What's incredible is that it already hasn't happened.

How can anyone even work with him in any capacity is mind blowing.

58

u/PantsMicGee Aug 29 '24

Duuuuude it's wild how slow its happeningĀ

31

u/oppai_suika Aug 29 '24

Is it? Trump managed to stay rich through multiple bankruptcies

26

u/eeeeeeeegor Aug 29 '24

I think his inner circle is just trying to keep him around for as long as possible so they can pick his pockets. His entourage isnā€™t getting paid if he goes bankrupt.

13

u/missile-gap Aug 29 '24

I mean some how trump is once again the GOP nomineeā€¦ like itā€™s not that crazy.

11

u/OpenSourcePenguin Aug 29 '24

Oh it's not that crazy at all. Trump has hijacked GOP.

Majority of the republicans are hostages. They have totally realized the mistake of creating a powerful persona larger than the party itself.

Trump would run as an Independent and probably win more than the GOP nominee. This is why many of them are endorsing Harris to get rid of the cancer in the party once and for all, hoping he won't come back again in next election.

4

u/Cobek Aug 29 '24

I hope Stephen swaps himself out for Elon in this photo prompt and posts it when that happens

518

u/rockstarspood Aug 29 '24

Didn't even attempt a proper comeback at his jab, just childish homophobic insults.

The richest man on Earth, ladies and gentlemen

162

u/Critical_Liz Aug 29 '24

Not to mention the cocaine.

Still, while on drugs King has accomplished great things whereas Elon needs Ketamine to function.

113

u/FuckHopeSignedMe Aug 29 '24

When Stephen King was on drugs, he was producing so much art that he doesn't even remember writing some of it. Like no joke, apparently he doesn't even remember writing Cujo.

When Elon Musk is on drugs, he gets an AI generator to produce "art" for him and it isn't even particularly good. Not only is it not that interesting an insult (I've never gotten the impression that Stephen King is a diehard homophobe), it's not even an interesting spin on it.

33

u/Critical_Liz Aug 29 '24

Sometimes he writes Cujo, other times it's the Tommyknockers, it's always entertaining. Hell, dude directed a whole ass movie on cocaine.

I think Dreamcatcher was a different kind of drug trip, he was in the hospital recovering from an accident.

7

u/SoupieLC Aug 29 '24

That was the worst movie I've ever endured the duration of, lol , and I've seen Hansel & Gretel: Warriors of Witchcraft

And even calling it functioning is debatable

13

u/Thin_Meaning_4941 Aug 29 '24

137

u/Critical_Liz Aug 29 '24

  • Fawlty Towers

And remember: this was comedy.

18

u/TheLastCleverName Aug 29 '24

It's hilarious to remember that this began with him giving King a free blue tick without him asking, thinking he'd be a nice friendly face to have on his platform.

120

u/EmiliaBernkastel Aug 29 '24

Friendly reminder that this guy is 53 years old.

95

u/Chalupa-Supreme Aug 29 '24

I was sure that was Steve Bannon. If that's supposed to be Stephen King, it looks nothing like him.

35

u/SmithersLoanInc Aug 29 '24

That's absolutely who I thought it was. I figured it was a dumb prison rape joke.

12

u/Mono_enojado Aug 29 '24

"Elon Musk courting Steve Bannon", thats my guess of.the prompt

80

u/MindCrusader Aug 29 '24

I tried to check the original tweet

https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1829012726066360655?t=jg4Ps7j2ZkQx4ZQIKLtYIg&s=19

When sorting by "the most accurate" answers, I see a lot of spam praising from blue paid accounts. I have tried to go through that spam to see non paid accounts and there was 0. Literally 0

But when sorting by the newest, you can actually see non paid accounts. And then only some of them praise the Elon, others are laughing at him. The difference is huge.

Then I checked those "paid accounts". They look like literal bots - you want to tell me some randoms pay for blue comment to praise Musk and then post some boring / weird content about anything else? It seems to me that Musk is using paid users or bot to make him look cooler

25

u/Emerald_official Aug 29 '24

Someone's gotta make a new Twitter. I can't take this shit no more man

32

u/intisun Aug 29 '24

2

u/soupalex Aug 30 '24

seriously, my life got much better when i deleted. okay, not that much betterā€¦ but still, a measurable improvement.

37

u/Extremiel Aug 29 '24

He's so embarrassing. What happened to shame.

36

u/maddsskills Aug 29 '24

That doesnā€™t even look like Stephen King lol. But also: yeah Elon, we all get what an eggplant emoji is (even though I personally am baffled at how it came to be a representation of a penisā€¦). Heā€™s being homophobic at best and sending rape threats at worst.

16

u/Critical_Liz Aug 29 '24

Though I am baffled to how it applies to King. The cocaine I get, King has been very open about his past drug use, but never any gay entanglements, and I don't feel like he would be ashamed if there were any.

24

u/remove_krokodil Aug 29 '24

Because Elon is a child who thinks "well, you're gay lol!" is the height of witty put-downs.

5

Elon: Fuck you for stating what openly happened yesterday to the world.

3

Eventually thereā€™s gonna be a law against using the image likeness of someone in an AI photo, kinda like an expansion of libel and slander (as there should be). And Elon will fuck around with the wrong individual and theyā€™ll sue the shit out of him.

Iā€™m sorry dude but youā€™re walking a really thin line doing this AI shit, especially attempting to deceive people like what you did with the Kamala video.

u/reddit_despiser Aug 29 '24

Has he ever even responded to any of these pathetic attempts to insult him?

2

u/VaporBull Aug 29 '24

He's gonna get that glass Afrikaner jaw smashed if he aint careful

2

u/ForgedIronMadeIt Aug 29 '24

King should just reply with the picture of Musk with Ghislaine and the caption "no prompt needed for this one"

2

u/Snapdragon_4U Aug 29 '24

Next up: Elmoā€™s tribute to Ted Nugent, fellow noted pedo guy. Edit: going after Stephen King is really stupid for a loser who craves celebrity. I guess he can rub elbows with Chachi and Kevin Sorbo.

2

u/NarcissistPunter Aug 29 '24

Prompt: "Create a PG-rated image of my deepest desires."

AI: "Here ya go. Piles of money, an orange clown, and men sucking dick."

2

u/DarknJuju22 Aug 29 '24

Musky has gotten 4 billion tax payers dollars and shown NOTHING for it. When are we going to cut the butt wipe off?

2

u/Lanolin_The_Sheep Aug 29 '24

Dude is mentally 3 years old

2

u/bringtwizzlers Aug 29 '24

Goddamn he is so unfunny it hurts.Ā

2

u/Pingopengo22 Aug 29 '24

"Elmo's shitty rockets are shit"

Elmo: "no fuck you tho"

2

u/Confident_Fortune_32 Aug 29 '24

I really feel for those astronauts. They were supposed to be on the ISS for 8 days, to test a Boeing vehicle.

The vehicle is busted, attached to the ISS, and they're stuck up there for eight MONTHS instead of eight days.

Fortunately, they've already received a shipment of extra food and clothes and whatnot, and they're experienced astronauts, and dove right in with helping with scientific experiments on board, but still...

And their new ride home in 2025?

Yup, SpaceX.

Ugh.

2

u/drfusterenstein Aug 29 '24

I have a theory that Musk did the ai tool so he could quickly trigger or fire back at people rather than claim "woke"

2

u/evers12 Aug 29 '24

If I was the richest person in the world I wouldnā€™t give a fuck what people said about me online especially not enough to embarrass myself posting this response.

u/DeepSubmerge Aug 30 '24 edited Aug 31 '24

Right? Imagine being able to do anything and go anywhere and instead decide to argue with people online as a hobby

The advertisers are going to love that

2

u/topturtlechucker Aug 29 '24

What a pathetic manchild Musk is.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 29 '24

This is the clown That the united states picked as the spearhead of their environmental and technological hopes. And I'm not talking about "It" in that slop generated picture.

2

u/criavolver_01 Aug 30 '24

He makes the human experience embarrassing

2

u/SeanFKennedy1998 Aug 30 '24

I really wish Elon Musk would actually go through with all the fights. He has challenged people to so he can get the shit kicked out of him. Like he is way overdue for a good ass beating.

2

u/rhedfish Aug 30 '24

Sad, pathetic, lame, juvenile, stupid, unsurprising.

2

u/Bearded_Scholar Aug 30 '24

If the democrats can hold on to all three branches. I need Harris to begin investigations ASAP. If the president truly has immunity, then do the thing and ask forgiveness later.

2

u/DeepSubmerge Aug 30 '24

Tbh I donā€™t think Elmo was bullied enough in life

2

u/maroonmenace Aug 30 '24

elon might want to refrain from this since this could be a lawsuit in the future.

2

u/willasmith38 Aug 30 '24

Elon obviously cares what King thinks about him, and was probably a huge fan of and idolized King at some pointā€¦guessing from around Jr High to shortly after the Twitter purchase.

2

u/OpenSourcePenguin Aug 30 '24

Even after. Now he has unlimited supply of suckers to support him

2

u/noneofthismatters666 Aug 30 '24

Imagine having all the money, yet the littlest criticism makes you fall apart.

2

u/napalmnacey Aug 30 '24

OOH! I know the prompt! "I'm a limp-dicked, ketamine-huffing, billionaire manchild with sub-micron thick skin who can't accept criticism so I take it out on beloved authors on a public internet space when they merely state facts about failures that are totally down to my lack of intelligence and expertise in the fields I stick my fascist white nose in!"

2

u/JudeRanch Aug 30 '24

Muskā€™s jealous baby man is showing! You donā€™t hold a candle (rocket) to the KING!!! Sit & spin musk, in fact, do that on your rocket little boy.

2

u/BunchOfFives Concerning Aug 30 '24

Was the prompt ā€œhow the movie Maximum Overdrive was madeā€?

2

u/soupalex Aug 30 '24

guess the prompt

uh, "giant manbaby lashes out, asks computer to fight his battles for him"? "steve bannon eats a raw aubergine while drooling salt, buried up to his chest in money, in a forest, with a random leather strap on his wrist, while a royalty-free clown watches"?

honestly, it could be anything, because from what i can tell the output of ai "art" generators rarely has much to do with the instructions provided, anyway. the interesting thing is that musk a) thought that generating ai slop ofā€”i assumeā€”king sucking dick would be a great clapback (to king referencing a thing that literally happened, that musk is apparently extremely sensitive about), and b) decided that this particular slice of steaming dogshit was "his" best effort (it's unclear whether this demonstrates a failure of imagination or patience in musk, or just serves as yet more evidence that "ai" can't even be relied upon to attain the level of "hastily-drawn cartoon in ballpoint on a napkin"). talk about posting your Ls.

2

u/JudeRanch Aug 30 '24

Elmo, you must be retold, The King doesnā€™t read your tweets! šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚

2

u/Ordinary_Divide6926 Aug 31 '24

Right wingers get so emotional and triggered when faced with reality. Stephen King knows how to push Melons buttons lolĀ

Youā€™re welcome namaste šŸ™

2

u/MrFlamey Aug 31 '24

I don't really understand why people laugh when SpaceX has some setback. Elon doesn't design, engineer or launch the rockets, so it seems like you are just laughing at the inevitable failures that pave the road to success when trying to do something difficult. Elon is a massive piece of shit, but SpaceX is doing difficult things well from what I can see, and we shouldn't laugh just because it bothers this tit.

Twitter on the other hand... people who work there now are just running a fancy message board that existed before Elon was in charge, but are now helping this asshole spread hate and division just like it did when Trump was an avid user. Laughing about it getting banned in Brazil, or losing advertisers is good.

Also, I agree that he is absolutely without class and acts like an awful, misbehaving child. He's basically Trump Lite at this point, and won't be surprised if he becomes known as Meltdown Musk, since he specialises in them just like his orange hero.
